has anyone bought a HILLMAN golf trolley from "Irishsportswarehouse.ie" or the "MOcadfariwayking" from woodies . Seem to have alot of the same features the main difference being that the Hillman has a distance control button.

The Mocad is €249 while the Hillman €209 .

    Any advice greatly appreciated :)

I bought a gokart earlier this year and am very happy with it, their aftersales is excellent as well..

you can only buy online: www.gokart.co.uk

+1 for the gokart, I love it and so does anyone else I play with, idiot proof too use.

    +1 for GoKart.

Their new automatic cart is excellent and they deal with Ireland now through www.gokart.ie

    another +1 on the gokart.

My new Automatic GoKart arrived yesterday. I am itching to try it out. :D

They currently have a promotion offering an extra battery, a set of winter hedgehog wheels or an accessory pack with each trolley order.

I went for the free accessory pack of a bottle holder, umbrella holder and a transit bag.

+1 for the GoKArt. Got one a few months ago and love it. Getting the auto throttle retro-fitted to it in a couple of weeks.

Top cart and top after sales service.

You won't go wrong with one.

I dunno bout the go kart guys, it looks seriously flimsy. I haven't heard great things about it and the guys up there sound like sales men to me, apparently when something goes wrong its a nightmare to get parts sent over from the UK. I prefer to stick to irish companies like Golf Glider and Esport Golf.

6 independent posters all recommended the gokart having had personal experience of using it & dealing with their aftersales team... If thats not good enough for you then fair enough....

You're right, form an opinion on it based on a picture

I have one about 5 months and it's solid as a rock.

Really, didn't you read the "guys up there" who have actually used it giving it strong endorsements? :P

Satisfied customers are always the best salesmen for any company. Business Studies 101 :)

Based on what experience? I snapped the retaining buckle on the strap which holds the bag on the trolley (completely my own fault BTW) and emailed them offering to purchase a replacement after my round on the Sunday. Monday morning I got a call from them and Thursday a replacement was delivered to me here in Dublin FOC!!!

Hate bad customer service like that  It's why I never endorse the Go Kart or the service their staff provide :D
    Golfer2012 wrote: »

If only everyone thought this way wouldn't the world be a great place. For starters the owners of Golf Glider and Esport would only use Irish designed and manufactured motors and tyres on their products (like that's even possible ;)), no one in Europe would ever buy our agricultural products, we'd all be burning turf and travelling by horse and carriage because we'd insist on only using Irish sourced petrol and Irish designed and manufactured cars and we'd never have to deal with any of the millions of pesky international tourists who come here to spend their money Etc Etc

Don't suppose you contribute to Boards.ie on a Dell, Apple or HP computer do you by any chance? why didn't you buy an Irish designed and manufactured one? Don't suppose you use an Apple or Samsung phone do you? Beginning to see a slight flaw in your argument here????

Buying Irish is commendable but for feck sake realise that shilling makes your company out to be cheap and pisses the locals off. It's not the first time that someone has thought of posting on this site as a sock puppet "asking" about some great new thing.

3 silly posts now about esport golf and this super "buy Irish" trolley.

Nail in the coffin was trying to bring down a super product like the GoKart..

That kind of carry on doesnt say alot for the people behind your product..

Just got a new Esport Golf trolley, looks good and reliable....bringing back old model with improvements which is good. Check it out.

FFS how obvious can you get.

Most people on here are intelligent enough to make up their own mind. You're not doing yourself any favours by shilling. Especially when there are plenty of users on here who have a gokart and have nothing but good reviews on them.

again didn't mean to piss off anyone, i am new to boards i just thought id jump in and talk about stuff I've an interest in......i can't speak for other posts by users but mine was just general comment, it was actually one of the first things Ive ever used boards for, checked out some reviews of other trollies asked people had they heard of this new one and didn't really get a reply, went ahead and bought it came back on to see if i had gotten a reply, saw this go kart thread had heard some bad things but again I do admit i have no experience myself with them......thought id add a comment and then there is a serious fall out afterwards, I shall put it to rest tho, i understand things can come across totally wrong to people on a site like this......wish me better luck with future threads ;)

    Guys,

The same people are on a number of threads here posing as customers pushing "junk" electric trolleys. To put it simply you get what you pay for. If your budget is €299, €399 or €499 you will get an electric trolley of equivalent quality. My advice is, do your homework! Ask other club members what they are using and what repairs they have had done. Any ejitt can post a review on a product.
As for the Esport and Gokart employees posting here. Get a decent marketing budget if your product is so good!

Oi, dickhead with three postings I take offence to your asertion that the GoKart reviews and referrals on here are by GoKArt employees. I am a happy GoKart customer and recently had my model upgraded to the Automatic option which I couldn't be more happy with.

If I'm happy with a product or service I tell people on here about it if the opportunity arises and if the opposite is the case I will complain on here if the opportunity arises. You are questioning my integrity and I resent that.

Does someone with 3 postings seriously think people with thousands of postings are employees of GoKart trying to promote their product?? Have you any idea how long it would take to get up to 1,200 postings??

Mods- I propose that new members should have to pass a mental retardation test before being permitted to post.

    Obviously you'd fail Hazard.

Just off the phone to them in the UK about a whine that's been developing in the motor the last two months. They're collecting it on Friday, shipping it to the UK(I assume) and say they'll have it back in 10 days.No charge.Fingers crossed:)

Thats a pretty robust reply from a someone with no interest in a particular product?

I don't think his problem is with you disagreeing with him.

It is your suggestion that he & others (me being one of them) who have endorsed the GoKart have ulterior motives for doing so when all we are doing is giving our opinions as satisfied customers & trying to help out the OP with his decision.

Personally, I'd love to work for them if I got a free GoKart out of it or Mars for that matter.

Well my main problem with this tread is the coincidence of having the GoFart name being mentioned over and over in a review for electric golf carts where that same named brand has probably only 0.0001% of the market.

Personally I have never seen a GoFart on a golf course. I've seen two in my local repair shop and the guy there said they are a poorly made cheap piece of crap. They are made so cheap that they can replace the trolley up to 3 times in the lifetime of the guarantee.

But like our abusive friend friend BenThere I too am entitled to disagree with the point that GoFart is a good golf Trolley.

I would recommend the Motocaddy, Powakaddy, Glider or Powerbug if going down the electric trolley route.

Don't waste your money on a GoFart! When it arrives in the post you'll see why!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,677 ✭✭✭staker

€299 spent on a GoFart, good piece of kit and well worth the money.Couldn't comment on any of the other big brand names out there as I've no experience of them.
Out of curiosity, have you used one yourself?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 Hazard_328

€229 doesn't buy you a good trolley.....Golf Motion is the prime example.

I think until your use a proper trolly like the ones I mentioned you will never know what you are missing. If the GoFart is the only trolley you every used then compared to a push rental its probably like a Mercedes for you.

However in Golf trolley world its really a Lada......built on a Friday........after a Thurday night promotion on Vodka......in Kazakstan...

Since forever "Ben". People are not stupid and if GoFart was any good we'd see it on all the golf courses. Ask yourself why does Ping and Taylormade have a large market share and say Mcgreggor has a small market share?

I also take offence to the assertion that I work for GoKart because I wrote a supportive review!

I bought a GoKart, love it, had an issue with it and it was collected free of charge cos it was in warranty, repaired and returned.

I decided to upgrade it before Christmas to the new Automatic option and the customer service was, once again, excellent.

By the way I use Callaway x-20's and love them, wear Ecco golf shoes which are also excellent and I use whatever ball I find in my bag which is an Oggio and also superb quality!

However, I am not an employee of Callaway, Ecco, Oggio, Nike, Titleist, Srixon or Top Flight!

€45 for a replacement switch on a two year old Powakaddy is what a mate of mine paid recently, that's outside of the 80 km round trip to get it to the workshop.
As opposed to free collection, repair and delivery by Gokart under a two year warranty.
The Gokart may not be for all pockets, but some might say Mercedes are hugely overpriced too.

I too own a gokart and would happily recommend them though I'm disappointed my cover has been blown. I thought that only mentioning them in 0.00096875757% of my posts would have allowed my shilling to slip through but...

Em, I nearly feel bad for trying to bring this thread back on topic!

I have been looking around for a trolley for a few weeks, any used ones are either quite expensive or just seem too dodgy (thinking of wear to battery, motor, switches, etc.)

So I searched here for opinions I'd trust and I trust the opinions of the seasoned posters on here more than most and certainly more than the newbie guys seemingly pushing their own products. Looks increasingly like a gokart for me.

    So, to those of you who have purchased gokarts;

Is it really worth paying the extra for the automatic version? I'd play twice weekly for 7/8 months of the year and once a week maybe the rest of the year.

They have a deal at present which is IIRC E25 off when you buy two accessories. Do they often do deals and might it be worth waiting for a better deal?

My birthday is coming up in March, although I'm itching to get my hands on one right away if there's a chance of a better deal coming up I'd somehow manage to wait as her good self might buy it as a present. ;)

Happy Birthday. However before you waste your money on a GoFart you should break down the compnents of the trolley and compare it to others.

For a start its made of plastic which is too weak for the purpose of the job you are asking it to do. Every other manufacturer uses alluminium. Why? because it is more durable than plastic.

You would think that being plastic it would be lighter than other trolleys but I'm afraid it is not. The GoFart weighs 7.6kg without the battery which is the same weight as two other premium trolley manufacturers.

The battery is the weakest used in the industry (18Ah) every other trolley maker uses a minimum 20ah

Golf Retailers don't stock them, I wonder why?

Anyway best of luck with your decision. However my final word of advice is to go and ask golf trolley users (in your club, not the internet)

I am in the market for an electric golf trolley so I decided to look up boards to see if there were any genuine reviews.

The GoKart is the only one causing negative debate so for that reason I would have to discount it. Besides that its ugly and made of plastic. I can imagine myself throwing a weathered clapped out machine out in about 2-3 years.

I have however checked out Motocaddy in a number of shops (having first looked at Powakaddy) and asked a few users in the club. I am going to go with the Motocaddy S1 as it looks well built, light, silent and stylish. The Powerbug was a close second and I would have gone with the glider (as they seem to go forever) but it was a bit pricey.

Its nice to be able to try out the Trolley first before buying it and support local shops.

Hey Scout - was the upgrade to the auto version driven by the fact the "normal" system is not great or just that you wanted to try the auto? Having switched would you recommend the auto over normal version for a new buyer (at a €46 premium)? Cheers.
