Luas have announced their late night Christmas schedule for 2011. It's not good news for Red Line passengers as there is no service this year.

It's nice to see clarification that annual tickets are valid. This has always been questioned in past years.

Night Luas Schedule - December 2011

    What is Night Luas?

Night Luas is a Luas service that operates from the last regular service at 0.30am until 3.30am on selected dates in December.

What dates will Night Luas be operating?

    Friday December 16th
    Saturday December 17th
    Thursday December 22nd
    Friday December 23rd
New Year’s Eve Saturday December 31st

Is the Night Luas service available on both the Green and Red Luas Lines?

No, the Night Luas service is only operating on the Luas Green Line this year.

How much does Night Luas cost?

    To use Night Luas you require a Night Luas ticket; there are three options for Night Luas tickets;
    1) Buy your Night Luas ticket from a Luas Ticket Machine for €4
    2) Use your Luas SmartCard and pay a fare of €3.80
    3) Use your Annual Luas Ticket, Annual Bus / Luas Ticket or Annual Rail /
Luas ticket. No other tickets are valid.
Please ensure you buy your Night Luas ticket BEFORE traveling.

What time does Night Luas run?

Night Luas trams will run on the Luas Green Line only from St. Stephen’s Green to Brides Glen at 1.00am, 1.30am, 2.00am, 2.30am, 3.00am and 3.30am. These services will run from St. Stephen’s Green to Brides Glen only, no inbound service will operate on Night Luas.
As Night Luas trams will be very busy during the festive season, we advise you to use St. Stephen’s Green Stop (Green Line terminus) on the Luas Green Line.

    Is Night Luas safe?

Luas is a safe service and is monitored by CCTV at all times.

Are there any service restrictions over Christmas and New Year?

There is no Luas service from 8.00pm Christmas Eve Saturday December 24th to 9.00am Monday December 26th.

6 trams between 1am and 3.30am is not much of a service! at least Dublin bus usually add busses when one fills up well before departure time
