Where best for a cub to socialise?

Hey guys, I'm new to getting out on the scene in dublin. I'm wondering where is best to hang out and meet fellow muscle cubs/ muscle bears? Been in Back Lounge a few times, and seems a nice crowd, but I'm wondering where else? I'm 31 and looking for a similar age range crowd, late twenties to late thirties. And not even hook ups, just friendly, handsome faces.

    All advice appreciated.

Pantibar and the front bar in the george

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Isn't the front bar in the George where the older crowd go (or is the front bar different from "J.P.")?

It may not exactly fit the OP's preferred 20's-30's age range.

    It's not all exclusively older.

I agree that Pantibar has the best talent of the type that you'd be looking for (particularly on a Saturday night).

I've read of a monthly night in Nealons pub on Capel St (opposite Pantibar) that might be worth a look also. I've never been so can't vouch for it but check out the link below.

The photo gallery for Bears Upstairs might give you an idea of the type of guys that frequent that venue.

The Front Bar of the George is a foul pit of sinister people. Pantibar is lovely and spacious and relaxed and perfect for socialising with any of your friends.

it actually is an aim of mine, obviously it's not gonna be called nightcub... will have some dj but gonna be targeted as a gay friendly (cubs/bears) live music venue... what you gonna spin on the decks? please no campy queer bollox!

That rules out Britney Spears so :P Well what's people preference. I can bust out most stuff like the usual nightclub music or something more geared towards a particular group.

What a horrible and completely judgemental comment!

Seriously though I'm of the "older" variety and still love The Front Lounge. But not wishing to end up as the oldest swinger in town I really would like to know where the more mature people congregate? Any ideas would be greatly received;)

Pantibar gets a healthy mix of young and old. You would see more mature guys in Pantibar than FL. Jurassic obviously attracts the most mature punters (hence the name) but you do get some young talent calling in there as well. I enjoy going to Jurassic for a start of night pint as you can always get a seat and it has a more traditional/regular type pub environment...that is until the jukebox starts up...!

Perhaps you should follow your own unnecessary advice instead of telling others what they should or should not write.

Ha! I'm glad to see I've sparked off such 'interesting' dialogue. :)

I've actually just started going out with a guy Imet through a muscle bear friend. Definitely NOT a cub, but a good guy. So type only takes ya so far.

And we met in Panti bar - so this is one happy muscle cub right here.

    Happy New Years.

lol at the way you throw around the term "muscle cub" as if it were a highly common way to self identitify. It's as if "muscle cub" is as central to your identity as Irishness.

'Muscle cub' ismore central to my identity than my Irishness - which you presume to be my nationality. And I don't need it to be "highly common" - I know what I mean.

With respect, I think you're being rather presumptuous on several fronts.

A lot of tags and sub-tags there... I've seen lads referring to themselves as bears and cubs, when I'd have more hair on my arms! I find a hunky lad with a hairy chest very attractive but I'd really prefer if he was just a man rather a bear, cub, muscle cub or whatever.
