NFL Week 13

Another weekends football to look forward to, although week 13 already  Where has the time gone?

    Anyway, the games:

    Thursday/Friday:

    Eagles @ Seahawks (Sky Sports 1) - 01:25

    Sunday:

    6pm games:

    Falcons @ Texans

    Panthers @ Bucs

Bengals @ Steelers (Sky Sports 3)

    Colts @ Patriots (Channel 4)

    Chiefs @ Bears

    Jets @ Redskins

    Raiders @ Dolphins

    Titans @ Bills

    9pm games:

    Ravens @ Browns

    Broncos @ Vikings

    Cowboys @ Cardinals

Packers @ Giants (Sky Sports 3)

    Rams @ 49ers

    Sunday Night Football - 01:30

    Lions @ Saints (ESPN America)

    Monday Night Football:

    Chargers @ Jags - 01:30 (ESPN)

Who are your picks for this coming weekend then lads? Do you fancy any shocks? There's a lot of very low priced teams (including the Patriots at 1/16 to win and -20 on the spread!)

I'm hoping my Ravens notch up another win but it's usually these games in which we are favourites after beating a good team the week before in which we've struggled this season.

I like the look of Jets -3 at Redskins, Green Bay -7 at the Giants, Saints -9 against Lions (a team who are 2-4 against the spread in recent weeks and without Suh), Patriots -20 against the Colts (I know it's big but they will destroy them IMO) and that gives me a four fold of 13.5/1. Adding the Bears -8 against the Chiefs would increase that to 25/1, but that's a dodgy one IMO so I'll decide on whether to add them closer to the time.

    Enjoy

Actually mate, I took the schedule from here as I have done each week I've started the week thread:

    http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/pittsburgh-steelers-at-kansas-city-chiefs

But I think they've made a mistake and should have a 6pm game down as ESPN America with the late game being on Channel 4 as normal:

    http://www.channel4.com/programmes/american-football-live/articles/2011-fixture-list

They have Colts @ Patriots as the late game, NFL have Colts @ Patriots as 1pm (6pm our time), so there's some confusion on Channel 4's part by the looks of things.

I know that :) I just re-read my post there and it came across like I was being snappy with my reply which certainly wasn't my intention. Tone of voice doesn't portray to well over the internet :p

I'll edit the OP as soon as I find out for definite what game Channel 4 are actually showing. I suspect it may now be the Lions @ Saints, with the ESPN America game being the 6pm Colts @ Patriots.

Colts vs Pats was origignally scheulded for late night Sunday game on NBC but after week 10 or 11 they can alter there late night schedule so the Pats game has been dropped from late night becaue no one wants to watch it. Now Lions @ saints has been put into the late sunday night slot instead.

Dammit, have had Monday booked off work since the schedule came out :(

What's this talk of an ESPN America game on Sunday? They only have rights to MNF I thought?

Looking at UPC's guide, there doesn't seem to be any change from the norm. Looks like the usual 2 games on Sky, with SNF on Ch4 and MNF on ESPN. Only change is that it's now Saints/Lions instead of Pats/Colts on SNF, yes?

    Yup

Pats colts is usually a humdinger but with Colts current situation, they are right to not show it. Also Lions Saints will be a great game, I can't see the lions stopping Brees and the saints though! After watching them dismantle the giants!

Come on the saints, being a bears fan, We need a lions loss, considering we may lose a couple more than we would have with cutler out!

I imagine TC will put Kiwanuka in at DE, Tuck should sit this one out, his motor is gone. Osi is injured. Hopefully Boley practices today, him and Chase could be a patchy upgrade at LB. Better play from Joesph, Canty and Bernand. Move Prince up and drop Ross back.

Might as well try something different. Trattou is rumored to be given some time too.

Hopefully we put in a shift on Sunday.

ESPN America has rights to Sunday games in several countries. Not the UK though

You can see the Czech version of ESPN America's schedule here; http://www.espnamerica.com/cz/f2/tv-schedule

They're showing Cinci @ Pittsburgh and Green Bay @ Giants though

it is, the time was changed for it recently.

Unrelated to this week but word on the street is that Pats @ Broncos on Dec. 18th could be flexed to sunday night football on NBC, replacing Baltimore @ San Diego... would be very interesting!

Not to dissaude you from your picks because I can easily see the Saints making the spread, but 2 things to be considered in favour of the Lions covering it. For starters, Staffords finger seems to be grand again so hopefully no more interceptions & secondly the Lions rotate their D-line more than any other team in the NFL I'd imagine. I don't think Suh will be as big a loss as people think. Fairly & Hill will slot in seamlessly.

Just hoping the Lions can pull off something like what the Rams did to the Saints, the week after the Saints destroyed the Colts by around 50 points.

I usually look forward to Pats/Colts a lot. This year will just be a complete blowout though.

What an absolute horrible game for mnf, who ever thought that was going to be a relevant game at this stage of the season

Story of the year. There have been some absolutely dreadful match ups on both MNF and SNF this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,339 ✭✭✭me-skywalker

Is this the Packers toughest game of the season?

I have been pinning on it as a good indicator for our playoff match-ups, the Giants have suffered a couple of injuries and might be on a downer after the Saints loss, but I would never right off a team after one loss especially to Brees. This is the kind of game Manning needs to get going in, to get points on the board and show the Giants are serious candidates for the big win. A win against the unbeaten champions would give them a huge boost.

The question is do they have enough to do it, can the Packers defence be as dominant this week as last, surely Mannign won't offer up as many INT's.

For me I'ld give it the Packers inside 7.

Your not gonna like next weeks MNF ! St. Louis at Seattle. Safe to say I'll be going to bed early that night !

Week 15 looks good though :) Steelers at 49ers on MNF and Ravens at Chargers on SNF

Like i said earlier, NBC are thinking Patriots @ Broncos instead for SNF, especially if San Diego are out of the playoff hunt by then

Hopefully they move it, I will be in San Diego that Sunday but have to drive to Anaheim that afternoon. If the game is early afternoon then the missus might be okay with staying for it (we are going to Anaheim to go to Disneyland for her birthday on the Monday) :)

    Not much to be honest.

I always look forward to the TNF game as I have Friday off so can stay up and watch it, but this just screams ''meh'' to me.

I'd actually like to see the Seahawks win, but I'll go for the Eagles by 7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

I'm on the Seahawks which means the Eagles will probably win. Not a whole lot of anticipation surrounding the game thats for sure.

Can't see Lions stopping the Saints either and that's gonna be my major punt. Brees is on fire at the minute and he has so many options at his disposal and the Saints just keep their offence so fresh. Between Sproles, Thomas and Ingram they've 1254 rushing yards but they're so lively when they get on because they've so many less carries per player (245 carries) than the likes of MJD (1040 yards for 230 carries). Then there's the fact that Sproles is just as deadly receiving a flat/screen pass so you don't know what is going to happen. That's without mentioning Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston. Whatever happens, it'll always be a huge score tally with the Saints. Packers -7; Saints -7 and Over 52 in the Saints game pays 5/1 with Bet365.

Others - Houston, Chicago, Packers and Titans.

Eagles @ Seahawks (Sky Sports 1) - 01:25 Seahawks are going to take this one

    Sunday:

    6pm games:

Falcons @ Texans Texans are stuggling in the QB due to injuries and will rely heavily on Foster .....this will be a tight home win

Panthers @ Bucs Pnathers under cam-new could upset the odds here

Bengals @ Steelers (Sky Sports 3) tight home-win ...possibly in OT

Colts @ Patriots (Channel 4) Patriots by a cricket score

Chiefs @ Bears We are at home and should win this one (if Mike Martz helps Hanie)

Jets @ Redskins Jets are hitting a bit of form and should win

Raiders @ Dolphins I think the Raiders will win this one

Titans @ Bills Home win despite the bills awful run of form

    9pm games:

Ravens @ Browns hmm this could go either way , but raven just about

Broncos @ Vikings Broncos away win

Cowboys @ Cardinals Hopefully the Cards , but really the cowboys should win

Packers @ Giants (Sky Sports 3) I actually smell on upset here , Yep Giants where battered last week , but there are the sort of team that can just turn it around

    Rams @ 49ers home win ...possibly shout-out

    Sunday Night Football - 01:30

Lions @ Saints (ESPN America) Saints , on fire should win

    Monday Night Football:

Chargers @ Jags - 01:30 (ESPN) this really could go wither way , home win in OT

Eagles on a short week, away to Seattle, minus their starting QB and top receiver, playing bad, got hammered Sunday, management apparently fighting in house. I'd go with Seattle for the win too.

Might watch the first half or so, not in work until half 1 tomorrow. Have gone for Seattle +10 and Under 46 points for a few quid at just over even money to have an interest.
