Interesting Sniper

I'm looking for an interesting sniper for my collection. I have the following in mind:

- Cheytac M200
- Any of the Barrett derivatives
- WA2000
- M14 EBR .... maybe

I have an L96 and an SVD already. So I'm looking for something top-shelf if you know what I mean.

I saw a Cheytac fly by a few months ago here and I'm kicking myself I didn't have a closer look.

I don't mean to shunt you or anything but:
ALL of the M200's suck. - the 8mm one included.
The only barretts are Smokey's (No way you'll find one of those), an AEG version and the normal BASR. Oh and kits (Very rare) The JG is pointless and only somewhat upgradable while the AEG versions Socom gear etc. are just V2 gearbox holders. They also hold them poorly and make FPS differences of say 10-20 what would normally be 2-3 in an M4.

All the WA2000 suck too, except perhaps the Asahi but good luck finding one for sale, and for under a few K.

M14 EBR. - Get a G&P over a G&G if possible. They are good.

Here's a gun you could get - A VSR or an M40 - both easily upgradable, look good, the m40 isn't seen much, light and they're cheaper too.

Thanks for your opinions. Much appreciated. But FPS doesn't interest me in this case. I won't be gaming it. It's a collection piece pure and simple.

I'd absolutely love the Socom Gear Cheytac 8mm. Tis expensive, but if one came up for sale here, I'd have a good long think about it.

Well the JG Barrett can be got for around €200 I believe - so that's not too expensive. And the M200 - The 6mm gas/spring one is by ARES- so somewhat better externals.

off boards m200 was 1050 so not for the faint hearted traded it a one of kind custom gbbr the body alone cost 400 as its cnc aluminum and its real size m4 receiver
the barret i know you can get for about 380 to 400 euro

Great to look at but nowhere near as good perfromance wise as say an upgraded L96 or VSR.

JUst saying yo the fella looking for a sniper rifles - Take stigmau up on that offer - sig 556 DMR's ARE SEXY AS HELL. I mean with a magpurl moe grip and an Acog or something look great.

And you can use it in game cause its <11kg :P

Make an AEG Consistency is key. Something you won't get with a GBBR.......unless you HPA it. OR BEST OF BOTH WORLDS AND GET A POLARSTAR MECHBOX. That uses AEG bodies but tapped with a HPA tank and special gearbox. Smexy.

Where can I get a JG Barrett M82 for 200 euro:eek: Can barely get a clone AEG for that, I want one, can you post a link or tell me where I can get one??

Last I checked (A year ago now) The JG/snow wolf M99 was like $170 from ehobbyasia. Oh and Massive defense shop selled'em too for the same price. Again this is a year ago so I don't know if they are in stock.

I know airsplat still sell it for around $180-210 (Yes they do ship here for like $40)

And no, I didn't own all of those guns but I am part of a forum which is filled with people who have owned these gun and the response is always the same or at least similar. For gaming they are not worth getting, even if you had infinite monies and a 500, 550, 600, 650 FPS limit. I listen to them when they list out the faults, which there is a lot of. The ONLY way they would be properly playable with was if the objective was to sit on your ass all day in the one spot. Lol.

Sorry dude just looked back over your post and saw that you said that these were only your opinions on these Airsoft snipers.
You got my hopes up for a minute there with 200 euro for a barrett, I thought you ment the military M82/107 version not the crap M99, who would want a civilian version?. Can't seem to find a M82/107 for less than a 1000 and all out of stock anyway.

Sleepershark has a Custom Barrett M107 with high grade internals if you dangled decent money at him he might let it go. Also for about 700 euro he could make one for you. He made a couple a few years ago pics below. If you don't want internals should be pretty easy I'm sure he kept the plans and CNC files.

Are the pins for show or is it held together with them like in the real ones and the barret kits?

Its held together with just the 2 pins, the barell has spring buffers can be screwed out and the top and bottom halfs come apart just like the real one
