Bought a 2.5 diesel Disco last wednesday, just wondering how long it usually takes the new cert to come? Is there any hope it'll arrive before the budget so I can tax it for a year before the tax rate goes up? Or, is there any way of taxing it without the cert? Assuming the guy I bought it from sent away the cert on the day I bought it.

It normally can take upto 2 weeks assuming the previous owner sent it straight away.

BTW any new changes in tax rates usually don't come into effect until 1st January.

    That's the key question TBH.
