Hi lads, in the market for new bag.

It will be going on a Motocaddy s1 lite push trolley.

Was going to buy one in shops but looking on eBay earlier there seems to be a load of good 2nd hand ones around.

Anyone here use a staff bag? Are they too big and awkward really

    Any reccommendations welcome

Sorry I use a carry bag so I can't help but I would say that I have all the room and pockets I need and for me using a big bag just means you fill the pockets full of stuff you don't need (including 3 dozen balls). I prefer to pack just what I need now and ditch the mouldy gloves that always lie in the bottom of deep pockets.

My advice is to get a good study bag and don't go overboard on size/pockets. Lots of small/medium pockets are good.......big deep ones not so good.

I have a Powercaddy push trolley that I use with a Nike Tour bag and it's ideal for my needs.

The sun mountain gear is very good, I play with a guy who has a similar bag and it does the job.

Recently got this Ogio Golf Syncro Cart Bag. I like it a lot and plenty of pockets.

Fits well on my twinline 3 and they have a new patented rain hood that's very handy.

As you have an electric trolley, weight shouldn't be an issue when it comes to the bag, however depending on what size boot you have in your car, size could be a factor. My husband had a staff bag & whilst it looked great & he felt like a pro strutting to the first tee, the bag itself was far from practical.

Personally I have a Powakaddy deluxe. This bag is bulky enough although smaller than a staff bag. The reason I went for this bag in particular was due to the fact it has 14 full length dividers. This means the grips don't get tangled up & even when on the trolley at a low enough angle the clubs don't all fall to the bottom. I even get the benefit of not having to have the headcovers on the clubs as the bag holds the clubs apart fairly well. Ample enough pocket space too.

I know the reasons may not be huge, but I find it keeps everything more than organised, the bag size is manageable & I've yet to run out of storage space.

Herself surprised me with this one last week for birthday after a few well placed hints

After 2 wet days in October where my golf gear spent 6 days drying indoors, I quickly decided on my next bit of golf kit. Much lighter than my previous cart bag and the material seems to be just like that on gore-tex breathable jackets (hope it withstands rough handling). Only have one rain free round out of it yet though.

    Have a Powakaddy deluxe myself
While I thought the dividers would be useful I actually found it a hinderance as every club has to go back in it's slot,so it becomes too figity especially if the hood is up in the rain, also 2 zips have broken so the Powakaddy is for the bin next year
It was good value approx €120 and I got 3 years out of it
I use a sun mountain h2no stand bag it's super , plenty pockets & comfortable
So next year I'll be looking at sun mountain and titleist for the next purchase of a cart bag

I'm actually the same, I don't want one that's 14 way divided. Like you said each club must go in its place. 6 way divided is what I'd like, not actually that easy to find. Most cart bags now seem to be 14 way divided

I see Titleist have a midsize staff bag. Looks nice and not as bulky.

Anyone used this or seen it in the flesh?

Lucky enough to have a staff bag and carry bag. The carry bag is great in the summer and has a Velcro strap to hold in the legs so it fits on a cart aswell. Can't beat the staff bag though for getting rain gear and several jumpers in.

I bought a cart bag for the brother for his birthday last week. It was cheap enough. €80 delivered from some crowd in Kilkenny.

    Here's the website.

He seems to like it anyway.

Been using one for the last two years and love it. Lots of room, well laid out and looks good too.

Was in cork yesterday , went into both mahers golf & American golf.

Could not find a cart bag with anything other than 14 way dividers, except for tour size bags.

Does anyone know a decent bag with 6 way divider?
