HTC Wildfire S internal memory problem

My wife owns a HTC Wildfire S which at the moment won't allow her to download and install new apps, telling her there's no more internal memory, yet when she checks it it's only showing half full. She did transfer those that could onto her 2Gig SD card. She has downloaded the app2SD app but still the problem persists. No more of her current apps on the internal memory can be transferred to card. Has anybody had a similar problem or have an answer to this please?

Your best bet is to backup everything.

Root it with UnRevoked 3, install Titanium Backup and ROM Manager.

Rooting will give you full access to the phone OS, with the two other programs need.
The Titanium Backup will backup all programs and data to your SD card { Pro is only ~10e and will backup to Dropbox } copy this onto your PC or other system.

Then with ROM Manger download and flash Cyanogenmod once you format {with will wipe } the SD card to ext3 you can run everything off it.
And once it's a fast enough SD card you should not see any speed difference.

I haven't tried but I don't think Bacon Zombies instructions will work on a wildfire S, only a wildfire.

From this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056441256 I got these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142529

Again, I haven't tried them but I'm seriously tempted to give it a shot, if I do I'll report back here...

There is no one click root for the Wildfire S, it can not be rooted unless you have s-off on the bootloader, which initially could only be done via Xtc clip, the lads on XDA seem to have a workaround but I think its only for the American cdma model, not the gsm one ....(last time I checked)

I rooted mine but had to get s-off done in a Chinese shop before I could even flash an official Rom on it...

That's what i figured, it seems the instructions from the xda forum will debrand it, not root it.

Seems you need the xtc clip, I assume it's how the chinese lads are doing it?!?

It is, you can get it done in the phone/internet shop opposite Fibber Mc Gees on Parnell street, 20 quid, just ask him to s-off and he will do it there and then, 2 mins, will save you a world of grief in the long run.....
