Postgrad Grant gone but still in college-Any other options?

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with advice here. Basically my situation is that my 3 year post grad grant ran out last October but due to delays (not on my part) I have at least 6 months of college work left before I finish up. Does anyone know if Social Welfare have any options for people in my situation, or are there other options I could pursue? I'm paying the bones of €100 just to get in and out of college each week, that's before rent etc. Had a few quid saved up for this eventuality but haven't had any income since October and at the rate I'm going I'll be flat broke come January with the possibility of having to drop out and waste the last 3 years of college if nothing turns up.

Any advice from people in the know or folks who might have been in a similar pickle is greatly appreciated.

Perhaps get in contact with your community welfare officer and see if they can be of any assistance? I wouldn't be familiar with any options they have, but it's definitely worth a shot.

I'll leave the thread open here for anyone who may have a useful reply, but you also might find it useful to start another thread in State Benefits.

CWO probably won't help - try vincent de paul

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
