    Hi Folks,

was wondering if you could recommend a christmas gift for my brother who has just got into cycling (having recently got himself a mountain bike on the cycle to work scheme)

    I have a budget of €100-150.

He's a bit of a gadget head so perhaps a cycle computer?

Anyone recommend makes/models, or have any other suggestions as to what I can get?

Mountain biking and electronic gadgets don’t go well together from my own experience but I can give you two suggestions
I don’t know if he has them but spd pedals and cycling shoes or you could look for a Garmin gps watch.

I'd recommend a set of tools or a Park Tool workstand, if he's into maintaining his bikes himself. A Camelbak might be a good bet if he doesn't have one already.

Winter clothing accessories is probably the easiest.

Gloves, buff, overshoes. That sort of thing.

boards.ie cycling jersey and shorts. An order has just come in so surely someone will be selling off their misfitting stuff in the adverts section :D

If you've no problems with vouchers (some do), CRC have 20% off at present. i.e £50 sterling voucher for 48e. I ve dropped a few mentions with those closest to me :D

The smaller Garmins are fine on a mountain bike (I use a 500 all the time) and the Garmin 200 fits nicely into your budget!

for the most part id say cyclists - MTBers included - are fussy lot about gear. Every christmas i receive bike related pressies - for which im grateful but will never use. So Id say Vouchers and maybe include a little token pressie to take the bad look off it (like these babys -
