How long does getting fit for the royal marines take

    i would just like to know how long it will take me to get fit for the RM just so i can set a starting date thanks

    depends on your standards now i suppose,at the moment they look for supermen due to the extra demand and lowering vacancies.

    A mate of mine spent about 14-15 months training for it. Passed the PRMC about two weeks ago.

    Depends on your fitness level so very vague question.
    I would guess an ultra marathon runner would get in shape quicker than a 20st lay-about.

    In my opinion its only 25% fitness and 75% stamina and determination. The work you need to do is hill reps, heavy weight running/tabbing (sorry yomping for the Marines) and rep work carrying awkward heavy items like water jerrycans (at least 20lyrs) or tool boxes.

    If you have the stamina then it will take no time at all;)
