Advice on taxation iati vs acca

Hi all, so I've finished my last year with accounting technicians and passed all my exams except the taxation, I failed 2nd time around too, I'm going on to do the acca, I've passed the first 3 exams f1-3 and was thinking of doing taxation next, and repeating the taxation for iati also (iati in may and acca in June). My question is would studying the acca taxation make it harder for the iati exam, I.e. are they completely different or quite similar as a lot of the other acca exams are kind of uk based. I'm hoping they are similar as doing the two at the same time would be easier I hope.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

F6 Ire is the Irish based ACCA knowledge level tax exam. It's based on the Irish Tax code for the year prior to that in which the exam is offered. The 2012 exam will be based on 2011 tax rates and rules.

Great, would it basically be the same methods between the two with acca being that bit more advanced? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot doing f6 if it's going to throw me off the iati methods, hope this makes sense

I don't know the difference, but you can probably judge for yourself by looking at the past papers. ACCA past papers for F6 can be found here http://www2.accaglobal.com/students/acca/exams/f6/past_papers
