    Hi,
Someone posted a thread about this outfit yesterday, it comes up on a google search but seems to have been deleted subsequently.

If that person wants to PM me as I also had a problem getting in contact with them.

Careful what you say but detailer.ie seems to be championed as some sort of god around here that can do no wrong by some people, then there are the people who have dealt with him and feel the polar opposite.

yeah.. he has too many buddies here, and any question about detailer will be deleted.

i had a thread deleted yesterday

It has nothing to do with being liked or disliked lads.
It has to do with somebody on here saying the wrong thing about somebody and being possible for slander or whatever.
There is not one single person on here can answer for Andy ( detailer)
He is the only one who can tell what is going on.

And take it this thread will be deleted again.

    @ Mods.
I think you should make a sticky for now regarding posting about Detailer until it is cleared up.

As above your post was probably deleted because of defamation, you can't post crap about a business without providing proof that would stand up in court.

i agree, it is 1 thing posting about a negative experience with a particular service or garage but that criticism can go too far to te point of being libelous....

my post simply asked if anyone had dealt with that particular company and that i had not received any reply to attempted contact via phone/mail.

Nothing that was anywhere near defamation. I have phone records and email records to prove that contact was attempted.

The deleted post was civil and to the point, and not at all contentious

The implication from your post speaks volumes though. The red angry face, the term "outfit" as if they are cowboys.

You need to be more careful about how your posts appear and the meaning that an ordinary person would attach to it.

For those who are interested you can get a better idea of what's going on with detailer.ie on the BMW Driver forum.

thats all that should have been said (or words to that effect) instead of being clandestine and deleting threads, because he may be a friend and you don't want anything bad said, even if what was said was the complete truth

To be fair, if you had health issues, you might not want anything being mentioned about it online either. We're not friends (Yet anyway) - I only know the guy through here, nor do I delete threads around here either. If your thread was deleted, the correct thing to do would have been to PM a mod and ask why, not start another thread with a frowny face icon and the guy's business name next to it. The newer users around here would put 2 and 2 together, get 22 and think there's something terrible about dealing with him seeing that on screen.

Pa990 didn't start this one in fairness :)

    +1 on your sentiment though.

Thanks for the replies, surely Andy could update his own website to keep customers informed?

Groupon have refunded me so I am less angry faced now.

3 posts in 10 years shows how often I have been on here but I'd be somewhat surprised if a genuine query thread gets deleted?

And I have read both sides of the story now thanks to some helpful pm's.

    a number of points:
I never said you deleted the thread
I did pm the person who deleted the thread
I did not start this thread
there was no red face on my thread.
i never refered to that company as an outfit.

CHECK YOUR FACTS before you add 2+2

    heres the PM

Boards.ie is not the detailer.ie helpdesk.

I myself is also waiting on a order for the past month, but as detailer.ie has no verified representative on boards.ie all posts/threads relating to this current issue will be deleted.

This is not up for debate.

But there is an issue dealing with him, that's the whole point of the thread.

He may have a valid excuse for that but I didn't know and had tried to find out through other means.

Outfit? I'd rethink how you term businesses.

Too many buddies? Care to back this up with anything? Feel free to PM me if you have an issue and I will outline in microscopic detail the reasons to you why that was deleted, although qz's post below gives a very accurate hint.

I am assuming you have permission from the Mod that you were in contact with to reproduce this? You really are threading a fine line publishing PM's here.

Boards.ie has no affilliation with Detailer.ie

It is treated in the same way as any other business that is subject to libellous remarks. We do not know what is happening, we are going on secondhand information but this secondhand information is readily available to all. As a result, post your problems where Detailer.ie appears to have a representative instead of boards.ie.

    Thread closed.
