    Pretty sure that's a 1st gen Pre, so it's 2 generations old.

    Review here

    http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/20/palm-pre-plus-and-pixi-plus-review/

Given the price of the Xperia Play (which will upgrade to ICS relatively soon), the Pre Plus would need to be retailing at significantly less to make it an attractive buy.

Just had a Pre3, they're lovely handsets and the OS is sexy, but if you're a regular smartphone user you might find it a bit lacking in functionality. If not, it's a great starter smartphone. Mine lasted a week before I went back to my Desire, getting myself a Sensation XE for xmas instead. :)

    Not sure about that
    looks like the versions are

    1.0 Pre
    1.1 Pre Plus
    1.2 Pre 2
    1.3 HP Pre3

Pre also had red buttons on the QWERTY keypad and it had a trackball on the face too I think

Looks like this one was released at CES 2010 so its 20 months old

not bad for a starter phone for a someone looking for a QWERTY phone (teenager might be the ideal user)

its a pre+, because the camera was upgraded to 5 megapixel for the pre 2 and the centre button was removed for the pre+.
Also, the first generation pre had orange coloured number keys.
I was (am) a webos junkie.
    I had the following:
Pre - got it the day they launched, loved it and said to myself "this will be a world beating device by the time they get to the 2nd or third version", i think i got that bit wrong!

    Pre+
    Pre2
    Pre3

The battery life was short in them all, mostly lasting about 10 to 12 hours.
Shame on HP for giving up after one attempt, it wouldn't give me any faith to buy anything from them.
