    Hi guys,

I've applied for the Central Bank's 2012 Grad Programme. Just wondering who else applied, how they found the aptitude test etc? Also if there is anyone whose working there from a previous intake it would be great to hear what it's like!

    Thanks

I applied but my friend got a reply back today saying she got through to the next round, while I didn't, so bracing myself for the worst :/

I applied I got the application form today it's pretty much the same as the one when I applied a few years ago. I would have thought from the mess they made of the economy they'd change their hiring systems but clearly not.

Trying to fill out those ridiculous competency questions now I just don't know how they'd expect anyone who is a graduate not to be competent with time management etc..

When is the position to start? Next september? If we get in do we get to choose which area we work in?

I got the application form yesterday. I wonder how important extra curricular activities are to the position.

I got a email asking me to interview, not sure what the rest of the recruitment process will consist of. The interview is 35 mins and with a HR rep and a CB official.

Do you have to have a degree in finance/accounting etc.. to apply for the graduate programme?
I thought it said so on the B.O.I website, but I've recently heard of someone getting accepted to the programme who's degree is in French and art history or something like that.

Just got called for the second/final interview. 1 March. I think its only 16 that have been called to this stage (correct?) 5 to go on the grad scheme and the rest for the Bank officer panel..

It could be any degree that is either business, business element in the degree whether or not its a business degree per se, but in general, finance/accounting/marketing/economics/business related degrees would be the degree requirements I think.

It was over a year ago when I applied didn't get through despite my degree related to business and IT.

@poor old gil - fair play on a getting a job. Did you think of giving the old civil service interview a whirl anyhow ? might have a better idea of what the CB job would entail after an interview ..

Congrats on getting to the final round, central bank grad programme is very competitive. So what does the final round entail? Is their a group interview?

    What civil service job??
If you mean the CB job- its a fantastic job and anyone would should be honoured to get it!
Its just that I am currently working and have accepted something to start in September (informing my employer that I have accepted it) so I would feel bad asking for time off for a job that they know I wont be taking

I have a degree in law and history and they asked me to the interview stage (although I didn't take it as I was offered an LLM the same day)

    Hi guys,

I went for the CB interview back in Feb and got told I had been placed on a panel from which positions will be filled over the next few months.. it said however that i wasn't guaranteed a position.. I got another email in mid may asking for references, to attend a pre employment medical and go through Garda clearance.. Its been nearly 2 months now since I've heard anything, just wondering has anyone else been through the same process and has already been offered a position or know what the chances are of being offered a positon?

Hi, I was just wondering how you got on in the CB Grad Programme and how your finding it? I'm applying for it this year and would really really appreciate some tips and what to do/not to do, what to expect, how are the interviews carried out etc? Thanks in advance for your reply!
