HDD noise in new 1TB sky HD box

I recently upgraded from a Pace Sky+ box to a new HD box and am finiding the noise from the HDD annoying, the Pace was whisper quiet in comparisson. Does anyone have the 1TB box and notice the HDD clatter? Even the HDD in the PC im typing this from is quieter/ silent.

Someone in Sky has suggested a planner rebuild, is that like a defrag or something?
