    while running

Im getting the head and ears frozen of me this last week or two. The cold is giving me splitting headaches, sore ears and stopping me after a mile or two. Whats that all about?

There must be something other than a hat one can buy. I tried a hat but it turns into a wet sponge with sweat.

    Does anyone else get this.

Buy sanitary towels for your ears. They should soak up the sweat and keep your ears warm :D

Try a buff, keeps you warm but breathable and can be rolled down or stuck on a wrist if you get too warm.

well pennys used to do cheap wooly hats that were reversable, if you keep reversing during a run they dont get as sweaty, also they are so cheap on longer runs you can have a fresh hat for every water stop!

I found those type with wings. I think they make me go faster. Till they fill up.

You can get hats that wick away sweat. I was given an Asics one about a year ago and really noticed the difference compared to a woolly hat. Just did a quick google and I see that Nike have one too - probably others as well. They're a lot more expensive that Penny's but probably worth it if the sweat is giving you problems.

The cheaper approach would be wear a hat for the first mile or two then when you've warmed up take it off. If you're sweating buckets then you're probably going to be warm enough if you're in Ireland aren't you?

    +1
    Get a technical running hat.
You can get really slim ones that keep your ears snug and your head warm without getting sweaty or overheated.
I have one of these myself and love.

Try a running headband, they just cover the ears/forehead from the cold and wind but leave the top of the head open. Aldi and Lidl have them from time to time for 2-3 euro.

I get that too (usually more so when there's wind) and the headband thing definitely helps. I got one in 53 Degrees North, think it's for skiing but I'm sure they have specific running ones. Or if I have to go out without the headband I find just stuffing my ears with cotton wool works.
