Bus Eireann is currently initiating a pre qualification questionnaire for what appears to be major overhaul of the administration of the Schoo Transport service on the Etenders website.

Sorry cant link to it, have to be logged in.

Was this flagged in any development plan, and budget wise, can they afford to do this at this time?

What does this mean in effect?

What does this mean in effect?

The overall office admin (to remain in-house AFAIK) of the service, including online access for parents to buy tickets ect, GPS for vehicles, with driver log on/off, and vehicle location devices.

Interested companies with verifiable turnover in excess of €600,000 are preferred to invite submissions, presumably to weed out chancers!!!!!!

This strikes me as something the NTA should be assuming from BE, but then how would we wash a bunch of subsid... errrrrr... administration cash through BE's accounts?

Some dissent amongst those posting questions now on etenders regarding the amount and sanctioning of expenditure that this new system will soak up in the current climate!

This is Just messing on BE's part. The School TranspOrt contract itself has never been tendered. It is going to have to be tendered in the next few years and it is ridiculous for BE to spend €20m in developing a computer system in advance of that.
