Today I collected my first JSB payment. According to the letter from the department I should get paid 188 euro. But I only got 156 euro from the post office. It is net payment and deduction is zero. Cannot figure out why. Is 188 euro payment subject to taxation? How the tax rate is decided? Is it normal?

BTW I entitle 9 month of JSB payment.

    Thank you.

    Was it €156.67?

If so, I presume you got deducted for Sunday (nobody gets paid for Sundays).

You should get full payment next week.

shouldn't jsb be more than 188? isn't 188 just plain old jsa?

Full rate of both are the same, with JSB not means tested.

Check the payment dates and days paid at the bottom of your reciept, it was probably just one day deducted like someone else said, so you'll be able to figure it our by the dates

Get used to it. That'll probably be the normal rate after the budget!

Thank you. You are very right. My payment started last Firday so today I got payment for five days. Sunday is not paid so it is (188/6)*5=156.67:P
