Anyone had one of these ?

I am thinking of giving up on my ailing 2002 1.4 Octavia i have had for almost 5 years now and wanted something decent on juice but abit on the sporty side (spare me your sporty diesel jokes please).

Would probably go across the pond to get one 06-08 under 90,000 miles if possible.

Was just wondering if anyone has any horror stories or if the engine gives expensive electronic issues as modern diesels sometimes do, thanks again for any helpful comments just doing some research as i wont be buying till febuary or so

All i know is alot of them are wayyy overpriced :eek:
and the 2 people i know with them have both had troubles with the turbo been wrecked by previous owners
Saying that though im no expert on VW's :cool:

You can get one with decent milage from english garages for about 4500 sterling, and 1st question i will ask if turbo is banjaxed, buying an Irish one really isn't likely unless i find a cheap one up north.

+ English cars seem to have higher specs as standard and cause the roads are better so the cars take less bangs

If you let the dealers know how many miles you want on it I'm sure they will sort you out.
