    I'm looking to get my husband a skinny black silk tie with an actual zip down the centre for Christmas...!
    Does anyone have any idea where I could such a thing? I assume I would have to have it made?

    try www.etsy.com, you never know what you find on there, and even if you don't find one ready made, you can put up requests, or find someone who does made to order.
