Does anyone know the length and gradient of the hill on the Old Finglas Road?

Trying to find something 300m long and as steep as Howth.

    Perfect cheers.

Only half as steep as the hill on howth. Oh well, will have to keep on looking. Not sure that there is a more local alternative though.

I use an iphone app called Elevation Pro to find elevations/grades of hills....very easy to use, uses USGS data, you just click on a point on the map and it gives you the elevation. Used to use mapmyrun but it just takes too long to draw a route

Don't know the length/gradient but I used to use it for short hill sprints, about 14s I think it used to take (from bottom to post box).

Mobhi road longer but maybe not as steep as you want. From botanic road to Griffith avenue, a few school type entrances to cross but wide enough to manage it reasniably safely. Some good steep but short hills in st Clare's across from DCU.

I know it well. Just not steep enough unfortunately.

Just too long to get to howth 20 there, 20 back, 60 there, guts of two hours for a hour session. Just not feasible.

The one from Fairview up to Griffith Avenue (prob not steep or long enough)?

Going to struggle to get both length and slope. Alternatives could be on/off ramp at Finglas village N2, or Shantalla Road N1, decent ramp at Bon Secours Hospital, and I think I remember a steep rise in the park off Botanic Avenue. Lots of long drags in the area but nothing like what you're looking for that I know of. For anything of any length in the area, Kyber is the only option that I know of.

Last one... The road from tolka Football ground up to Collins avenue (can't remember name of road but goes on to Beaumont hospital) was the toughest commute cycle I can remember in the area. Crossing at Griffith avenue precarious though.

A few steep ones on the Other side of main road at bottom of old finglas road, e.g up to tolka valley park pretty long and steep IIRC, maybe not the nicest place to run.

Grace park road. Run up there regularly and its nowhere steep enough for what Tunney wants.

Not familiar with anything west of the n2 in that region so could well be something up there.

Wouldn't be as steep as Howth, but how about from the Botanic Gardens up to the Met Office, going from Botanic Road up to the Old Finglas Road.
