Long story cut extremely short here.

i bought my car in the last few days of September (untaxed), it took the dealer over a month to sort me out with the log book, but i got it around the first week in November.

So the log book arrived and admittedly i put taxing it on the long finger for nearly a fortnight. So last Monday morning i got pulled in on the way to college on the N11 by a traffic corp car. The garda was very fair with me, 60 euro fine and no points thank God and just get the car taxed ASAP, no need to produce, so that was fine.

The next day i went in person to tax the car and paid for the arrears back to September too. Paid the money, got a receipt, new tax disc in the window.

Twice since then, the latest time being today, 6 days later i'm still gettting pulled in on the N11 for having no tax.

How long does it take for the motor tax system to communicate info to the gardai? Could something be wrong and if so who do i contact?

As an aside, lots of traffic cars on the N11 these days, good to see :pac:

The system is supposed to be updated every morning. After that I dont know Hooch would be the man to ask.

Sounds as though there may be something wrong then.

I reckon i'l ask the garda when they pull me in in the morning :P ever since i was first stopped, they always pull me in now, so maybe my reg is flagged now on their computers as still untaxed etc.

fooking embarrasing sitting on the side of the motorway :D

ANPR cars are updated even morning (or should be) by the early unit.

However, this upload relies on the tax office to get the into onto our authorities and onto our system. Generally this is done within two days or less.......thats being said I have come across cars in your situation. Just takes some a little longer. Shouldn't be a issue after 7 days. Don't think I have come across anything longer

    Thanks, i appreciate that response!.

i suppose the thing to do is just wait to see does it happen again and if it does, ring the county council and make sure everything was processed properly and take it from there.

it can't be much, just would rather it gets sorted.
