    was carnage for the bookmakers.
Boyles Money Back Van Persie (scored 2nd), PP Money back Norwich v Arsenal 1st goal, correct scores etc as VP scored last.
All the big guns won Arsenal, MU, Man City, Barca & Real Madrid.
Load of Ruby Walsh winners including Kauto Star (PP enhances) and loads of winning Favs.
VP, Aguero/Ballotelli & Hernandez all scored
(Ladbrokes Striker bet - anytime treble 10/1.

Heard about a guy in the UK who had an 85p soccer accum (don't know how many selections) but won over £500,000 .
That's what it's all about . isn't it?

Chelsea lost, Man Utd won 1-0 so all the -1 goal folk lost out there, most rugby games went contrary to expectations/the market leader not winning, Kauto winning meant Longrun lost.............. I reckon the bookies did ok as always :)

    Chelsea lost,

    Home to Liverpool?
Don't think they would have been in many bets.

Very few draws around as well.
    Rugby wouldn't be big turnover.

They were odds on so I imagine there would have been a bit on them.

Rugby not big turn over? It's a fair lash I'd say. I can't understand how you can reckon rugby isn't big turnover yet throw out "Boyles Money Back Van Persie (scored 2nd), PP Money back Norwich v Arsenal 1st goal, correct scores etc as VP scored last." as a reason for carnage for the bookies.

And all bookies would have been delighted to see Kauto win, any bookie who lost out on that race shouldn't be a bookie.

Have a look at any bookies accounts and see what % of turnover rugby is.

Arsenal, City & Utd would have been a popular Treble especially as they were all on the same day.
I know a couple of guys who always do the League Leaders Accums from the 3 or 4 divisions and they all won over the w/e.

The Money Backs were mentioned for 2 reasons.
One was a lot of people would have backed VP 1st goalscorer in both firms and might not have known about the Money Backs and secondly they would have been part of the carnage last weekend.
If you have to refund on the favourite in the 1st goalscorer market, it's going to be a big cost.

Kauto would have been popular with the e/w punters, yes it would have been a good result for them on that race but take all the other
races into account and see how many favs won over the w/e.

A guy in the UK who knows about these things told me Hills had one of their worst w/e's ever!
Have a read of Mondays Racing Post.

    What was Kauto Stars SP?

Bookies probably got back most of their weekend losses on yesterdays CL games.

That's of little relevance though, the contribution to that figure would be high on Heino cup weekends :)

Stumbled across this thread somehow. Having worked in a bookies for 4 years and from reading the racing post the days after this crazy weekend... I can say that RoverJames is talking complete nonsense in this thread and obviously doesn't have a 1 bit of a clue what hes talking about. All the big guns won (''except chelsea'') 11 of 12 away team favourites won on the ladbrokes coupon, as well as all the top teams in the championship and league1. It was a crazy weekend of favourites coming in that maybe will never be seen again. Also, when i worked in the shops youd be lucky if you took 5 rugby bets out of 1000 slips on heineken games and all for small money.
