Hi guys I bought xmas lights, anyway to cut it short I asked the seller about postage to Ireland and he gave me a price!

When I went to click buy it now I was having trouble with ebay every time i put in the postage cost it ebay kept saying insert a postage valve.

i emailed the seller but they have bad english so didnt understand what I was going on but said I could pay them via paypal and they would post out the item to me!

I got the Item this morning but its not as described its not suitable for outdoor use which they say it is, they also say its 12v which it is not its 230 and doesnt even have a transformer.

I have emailed them about it but expecting the run around with bad English and not been able to understand!

What are my rights here? If i return them does the cost of postage come out of my own pocket?

As far as I know you can still file a claim via PayPal but in the event that you are required to retrun the goods the cost of return will be your responsibility. Also the requirements from PayPal for this are that you use tracking which will confirm delivery which in itself will be quite costlky and depending on which country you are returning the goods to you may not get a positive result from the tracking.

Best option is to file a case and hope the seller fails to respond in which case you will receive a full refund.

Aslong as you didn't send it as a personal payment your still covered, failing that it's a good old charge back on your credit card
