How big is one radiator

Im looking at changing to solid fuel (as well as solar). Im told I have 45 radiators. and the largest stoves generally available mention heating a max of 20 rads.
So my question is - obviously not all radiators are the same size and the 45 is arrived at because some of the rads are "double rads".

When a brochure says 20 rads - what size are those rads??

If you have a look online at quinn or stelrad etc there will be outputs for rad sizes that you can compare with what you have. Another option is to use a whole house method to work out the heating load for your house but your plumber will probably work it out for you.

45 rads because some are double: who ever told u this must be snorting serious lines.

The number of rads is not the issue, the issue is stove heat output/heat requirement.

The 20 in the brochure will be typical rads for typical applications: all rads have a rated output based on a specified water temp so if ur oil system can do a steady 85 degree output the rad size will be much smaller than if based on a stove that might only do 60. u need to ask the stove folk what temp the rads are sized on.

finally a double panel rad does not have double the output of 2 singles the same size, its less

if the stove has an output of 35 kWs and you have 20 by 1.7kW rads then u are fully matched
