we are currently building our house and someone has advised us to paint the chimneys now while the slates are going on the roof...

We have picked a Colour from the Dulux range but were wondering if its a good brand to go with or is it far more expensive than others? Or any cost saving tips appreciated...

or anything else we should be wary of...

    thanks in advance...

You should consider how the finish on your stack will weather. Once you have committed to painting, it will need to be done at 10- 15 year cycles. Some people choose to leave the render unpainted and leave it weather naturally. Thomson's water seal will extend the life of the render and protect from frost damage. If painting choose the best quality paint you can afford. Dulux weathershield performs well. Sandtex also performs well.

Dulux is expensive for a reason.

Its the best and most professional painters will only use it for painting.
