Hi , I have a problem with a big number of telephone poles and lines running around / across / every way on my land beside my house .

Most of the poles are in place approx 25 years .The ground is boggy therefore the poles are sloping and practically falling down . which is a huge eyesore around my house .

I would assume they will have to be replaced at some point ??

My question is can I stop eircom from entering my land to replace them ?
It would be easy for them to cross the road into another field and adjust the lines resulting in less poles?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware eircom have similar privileges to ESB in this regard in that they can enter any property for the purposes of maintenance of their infrastructure. Prior notice to the property owner is likely to be required. Not sure that they will undertake to re-route cables simply because the poles are an eyesore.

    Thanks for reply .

Is there no guidelines these route designers follow? i mean there are telephones line/ poles running side by side ,maybe 2m apart .

Abit of common sense, decency and fairness they could remove a number of poles .
