Hi all I have a Nissan Kubistar 1.5dci with 95k miles on the clock and I want to change the gearbox oil...I can find the sump plug for gearbox oil beside the oil sump plug ok but I can't for the life of me find the filler point...I've done a lot of googling and it takes between 3.1 and 3.4 litres and it specifies that an Elf brand be used..any help is locating the filler point would be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance:)

Autodata shows it as being on the front of the gearbox.

Whatever you do make sure you can undo the filler before you drain the old oil out!
Probably Gl-4 or Gl-5 for the gearbox no?

Depending on what access etc is like it can be easier to fill via the breather plug on top. I found getting to that on my Xantia was much easier than the proper filler. Only thing is you need to know how much it takes cos with the side filler you fill till its at that level but from the top you wont know if theres too much.

always measure what comes out ,so you know how much you should put back in ,more reliable that going on specs.

True, but only as long as there was enough in there in the first place.Or someone else didn't overfill it.
I know what you are saying about specs though, they aren't that reliable.

Found the filler point...its a plastic wing nut...Its under the fuel filter on the front of the Gearbox...from googling I believe I should fill it up in until it comes out the filler point

    Thats standard practice.
I fill it until it comes out, take the car for a quick spin and park it on the level.
Have a cuppa and then try and put more in, air gets trapped behind gearwheels and after a run I can usually get a bit more oil in.
