Hackers at the Presidents Cup!!!

I watched the final day's play at the Presidents Cup and aside from the excitement factor brought about by a spirited charge from the International Team I was astounded at the level of play from a number of players.

Jason Day was +9 for the front nine and had another couple of bogeys and a double on the back before Mahan "beat" him on the 15th (all Mahan had to do really was to physically stand up!) He looked like an 18 handicap golfer. I'm sure just a minor blip but nonetheless astonishing. Phil Mickelson was atrocious- doubled the 1st 2 holes and was in a greenside bunker on the par 3 3rd after 4 shots before picking up so Adam Scott (and by Adam Scott I of course mean the team of Adam Scott/SteveWilliams) didn't even have to take his broom handle putter out of the bag until the 4th, threw in a couple of three putts after that (one Mickelson special where he knocked a 3 footer about 8 feet past!). Ernie Els- a shadow of his former self for some time but I have never seen him so anonymous on the course. Finally Robert Allenby- well the least said about his golf the better, clearly going through some hard times personally, but in my view a very poor pick from Norman, his swing looked awful, so off balanced, something you don't see at this level, you actually would have thought he was a 12 handicap the way he was swinging the club.

    Rant over!!!
