    WWE Survivor Series
    Aired live on pay-per-view
New York, N.Y. at Madison Square Garden

A video hyped the "Never Before, Never Again" main event…The big pyro popped and Michael Cole, Booker T, and Jerry "The King" Lawler checked in on commentary…John Laurinaitis came out and said not only was it the 25th anniversary of Survivor Series, it was also his tenth…

    1. Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) defeated John Morrison to retain the United States Championship at 10:45. The crowd went straight to "We want Ryder" at the beginning of the match. Still surprised this isn't the triple threat. Morrison got some boos for not being Zack Ryder. That's tough.

Ziggler flipped through a head scissor into a sleeper. Morrison slipped under and hooked his own sleeper. He turned it into a slam and covered. Vickie put Ziggler's foot on the ropes and the ref saw her do it. He banished her from ringside. One minute later, Morrison went for Starship Pain, but Ziggler got the knees up and followed with the Zig Zag for the win.

Post-match, Vickie did her bit and turned the mic over to Ziggler. Ziggler said you wouldn't want to follow that. The crowd chanted for Ryder again. Ziggler said Ryder isn't here. He said he was that damn good, or something. It was clumsy. Ryder ran out and slid in the ring to a huge pop. Ziggler attacked first, but Ryder hit the Rough Ryder leg lariat. Ziggler rolled to the floor, and Ryder celebrated with the crowd…

The lumberjills all came out to Kelly Kelly's music…

    2. Beth Phoenix defeated Eve in a Lumberjill match for the WWE Divas' Championship at 4:33. Eve slammed Beth early and went for her booty shake moonsault, but Beth rolled to the floor. The lumberjills rolled her back in. Later, Eve oversold a big kick out like she was Batista getting shoved. They fought on the top rope, and Beth hit a Glam Slam from the second rope for the win…

CM Punk was backstage and David Otunga walked up. After exchanging pleasantries, Otunga said Johnny Ace wanted Punk to apologize before his match tonight. Punk said he would think about it, after he beat Alberto Del Rio…

A close up camera shot showed Rock's chest tattoo. It zoomed out and Rock was there with a mic. He cut a lengthy promo about all the things that happened to him at Survivor Series and in his career. He said it was real simple tonight, "boots to asses." He gave all his lines and catch phrases before switching to Cena. He made another mangina joke and then sang, "New York" with the crowd before closing with his "smell" line…

    3. Team Barrett defeated Team Orton, with Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes surviving, in a traditional Survivor Series match at 22:08. Ziggler and Kofi started. Kofi tagged Orton who hit an RKO and Ziggler was gone. Dolph Ziggler was eliminated at 1:31. Team Orton leads 5-4. Team Barrett went to the floor to regroup and Team Orton attacked. In the melee, Sin Cara tried to hit a dive over the top rope, but he screwed it up somehow, and they just announced he was eliminated. Sin Car was eliminated at 3:40. The side are even at four.

After discussing it with the ref for some time, Kofi and Hunico started again. Kofi tagged in Ryan who tossed Hunico around. Cody got the blind tag and hit the Beautiful Disaster kick and Cross Rhodes to eliminate Ryan. Mason Ryan was eliminated at 8:50. Team Barrett leads 4-3. Sheamus stepped in and destroyed Cody. Cody tried to duck and toss Sheamus over the top, but Sheamus landed on the apron. Barrett tried to interfere and Cody kicked Sheamus to the floor.

Kofi and Barrett got hot tags and Kofi was a house of fire on the entire heel team. He hit a pendulum kick on Swagger on the apron which allowed Barrett to hit a big boot and Wasteland for the elimination. Kofi Kingston was eliminated at 14:04. Team Barrett leads Orton attacked immediately, but Barrett tossed him over the top and tagged Hunico, who hit a dive on Orton. Hunico rolled Orton back in and the heels worked in and out on Orton.

Orton fought back and Swagger and Sheamus got the hot tag. Sheamus killed Swagger and knocked out the rest of the team. He kneed Swagger in the corner until the ref disqualified him. He hit the Brogue kick on Swagger before he left. Sheamus was eliminated at 18:12. Team Barrett leads 4-1. Orton climbed in the ring and covered Swagger. Jack Swagger was eliminated at 19:31. Team Barrett leads 3-1

The heels stalked Orton in the ring, and Rhodes ended up the legal man. Cody mocked Orton with his pose. Orton stormed back and killed Cody. He knocked Barrett to the floor, but Hunico got a blind tag. Hunico jumped off the top rope, and Orton hit an RKO. Hunico was eliminated at 21:36. Team Barrett leads 2-1. Orton hit another RKO on Rhodes, but he turned into a lift and Wasteland for a Team Barrett victory. Post-match it was revealed Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patella tendon…

    4. Big Show defeated Mark Henry by disqualification in a World Heavyweight Championship match at 13:00. Big Show started by wrestling, literally wrestling. He hooked a waist lock and an arm drag and Henry rolled to the floor, frustrated. Show hit punches when Henry came back, but Henry kicked the leg and worked it for some time. The crowd chanted boring for some reason, and then broke into a "Daniel Bryan" chant as Big Show hulked up.

Show went for the chokeslam, but Henry kicked the leg and hit the World's Strongest Slam for two. Henry hit a splash and scored another nearfall. The crowd chanted for Undertaker. New York is high tonight. They spilled to the floor and Henry drove Show through the barricade. Show barely made the count, and Henry tried to do the superplex again. Show battled back and hit a superkick on Henry. He went to the top rope--that is not a mistype--Show went to the top, and after taking forever to get his footing, hit an elbow drop from the top for a great nearfall. Show went for the knockout punch, but Henry kicked him in the nuts to cause the DQ.

Post-match, Henry got a chair and set Show up for another broken leg. Show moved his leg at the last second, kicked the chair off, and hit the WMD. Show took the chair as the fans chanted for Bryan, and set Henry's leg in the chair. He hit a leg drop on it and Henry sold it like his foot had been cut off. Show left the ring. Medical staff tended to Henry who said his leg was broke…

Backstage, Matt striker started to interview Wade Barrett, but Awesome Truth walked up. They asked if tonight was about the Barrett Barrage, and Barrett said yes before walking off. Miz complained about the focus not being on them. Truth cut a hilarious promo about talking to pigeons--not Velvet Sky's--and they said Cena and Rock were a pile of crap…

A video package setup the WWE title match. Ricardo Rodriguez did his introduction for Del Rio. Justin Roberts announced that CM Punk also had his own ring announcer, Howard Finkle! Fink let them chant his name and then seemed unsure if he should start. The announce team **** all over him and finally Fink introduced Punk…

    5. CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) for the WWE Championship at 17:15. Punk got quick control and Del Rio rolled to the floor. Punk hit a suicide dive and rolled Del Rio back in the ring. He hit a cross body from the top for two. Del Rio knocked him down near the apron, and Ric Rod took a cheap shot. Punk got pissed and chased Ric Rod. Del Rio hit a drop kick through the ropes as Punk ran by. Del Rio legit landed awkward; it could not have felt good.

Del Rio hit a double axe handle from the top, and then hit the exact same move a minute later. Odd. Del Rio went for a drop kick, but Punk moved and Del Rio crashed to the floor. Ric Rod checked on Del Rio, and Del Rio hit a hangman on Punk, only to have Punk come back with a big boot. Punk went for GTS, but Del Rio slipped out and hit a back cracker for two. Del Rio followed with an arm breaker for two at 12:48.

Del Rio set Punk on the top and they battled. Punk hit a head-butt to knock Del Rio to the floor. The fans got super-hot for the elbow. Punk stood and raised his arms, but Del Rio swept the legs and had Punk tied in a reverse tree of woe. Del Rio kicked the arm and went for a spear, but Punk moved and Del Rio hit the post. Punk recovered to hit the elbow drop for a nearfall.

Punk stomped like he was tuning up the band. He called for GTS and lifted Del Rio. Del Rio slipped out and they ducked several moves until Del Rio hooked in the cross-arm breaker. Punk made the rope and Del Rio broke the hold. Del Rio charged Punk and knocked him into Ric Rod on the apron. Del Rio exposed Punk's ass pulling the tights so hard on a roll-up, but Punk kicked out. He hit a roundhouse kick for two and trapped the arm in the anaconda vice on the kick out. Del Rio fought and then tapped out…

    6. John Cena and The Rock defeated Awesome Truth at 21:28. Before the match, Rock essentially ignored Cena. Cena went to the apron and let Rock start with Miz. Rock hooked a headlock and Miz whipped him off. It turned into several arm drags on both heels. Rock tossed Truth to the floor and then Miz rolled to the floor to join him. Truth said he wanted the Rock so Rock gave him the "Bring it" hand gesture and Truth tagged in.

Truth took a beating from the Rock like Miz. Rock attacked Miz too, and Miz tried to come in. Cena ran over and attacked him. The ref forced him out as Rock hit a bridging fisherman's suplex on Truth that got no count because of Cena. Rock mouthed off to Cena and then Miz demanded to be tagged in. He did, and demanded Cena tag in. Cena stuck his hand out and Rock slapped it away as a tag.

The crowd attacked Cena with "You can't wrestle" chants. He hit a big move and the crowd chanted, "You still suck." Truth tagged in and Cena hit the start of the Five Moves of Doom. He stopped before doing "You can't see me," and then turned and did it to Rock. Rock stepped in the ring and stared Cena down. Cena turned around and Truth clotheslined him. Rock did not help.

The heels worked in and out on Cena, and you could hear Cena giving directions in the ring. The crowd went silent until Cena took a high cross body and rolled through into an AA lift. Then they booed. The crowd is bad for this match right now. More on that later. Truth slid out and hit a kick for a near fall. Miz tagged in and played to the Rock for a moment, allowing Cena to lock in the STF. Truth made the save and tagged in, but he took an AA to no response from the live crowd.

Miz made the save and distracted the ref to allow Truth to drop Rock on the apron. Rock tried to run in, but the ref stopped him. Truth tried for a silly, dancing leg drop, but Cena moved. Cena and Miz got hot tags. Rock took out both men with a Rock Bottom on Truth, followed by a dragon leg screw on Miz. Rock locked in the Sharpshooter, and Miz almost tapped, but Truth hit Pay Dirt on Rock.

Cena ran in and speared Truth. He hugged him and they rolled to the floor. Miz worked over Rock with kicks and then said he was the one everyone should be watching. Miz hit the ropes, and Rock popped up for a spinebuster. The crowd went completely nuts, and Rock hit the People's Elbow for the pinfall victory.

Post-match, John Cena clapped for the Rock and headed towards the back. Rock waved his music down and motioned for Cena to come back to the ring. Cena did, and played to the crowd on a turnbuckle as Rock gestured for him to do. The crowd booed. Rock told Cena to listen and played to a corner to a huge cheer. Cena tried again, and Rock told him to listen one more time and then, "Get the f--- out." None of this was with microphones, just to be clear. He played to the last corner to another great pop.

Rock's music played for a moment, and then he and Cena got face to face. Cena turned to walk away, but Rock grabbed him and hit a Rock Bottom. Cena rolled to the floor and struggled up the walk way, but managed to make a knee and give Rock a look. He went to the back, and Rock bowed and thanked the crowd to close the show

Overall I felt it was a good PPV, especially with such a hot crowd.

8 out of 10 for me.
Felt that it was a very good show up until the moment Rock pinned Miz. Not being snarky, but I thought it was an anti-climatic, if hugely predictable, ending to the show. Rock attacking Cena will simply be laughed off by Cena tonight on Raw, and Rock still doesn't have a huge motivation behind the feud with Cena. The finish didn't help any of the people involved.

Otherwise though, the match was good. Morrison vs Ziggler was great, the Divas finish was awesome, the 5vs5 match was good, Henry vs Show was decent, and I'm a Punk mark so yeay. It was a really good PPV provided you take it on its own merits and ignore the dreadful build up to the event.

    Craaaaap, i picked 6, meant 7.

    Anyway.
As TSC already said, the ending felt anticlimactic, this is supposed to be one of the big four, afterall. It should have had some sort of 'moment' like previous SvrSrs.

Great to see Rock being in such great shape and ability. Ring rust? What rust?! Punk back as champ is great but i feel a little cheapened by Del Rio's latest reign, its booking felt all too tna-esqe.

Yea i actually thought it was one of the best wwe ppvs done this year . The only bad thing was the finish to Miz/Truth . I thought of a different way they could have done the Rock/Cena thing.

Cena keeps getting beat up by Miz/Truth and gets a match between them at SS but has to find a partner and ask the Rock
Cena doesnt get a proper answer from Rock , but he says he will think about it.
Fast forward to SS and the match itself and the Rock does not turn up meaning its a 2 on 1 match until the last minute after Miz/Truth have beating down Cena .
Rock music hits and gets down to the ring makes the tag and cleans house and gets the win for his team.
After the match their is a confrontation between Cena/Rock , Cena hits the AA on Rock and walks out .
While Rock is getting back up Miz/Truth come from behind and attack the Rock to finish the ppv

The official Twitter feed of the WWE Insider stated this evening that Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patellar tendon and will be sidelined for six to nine months, following surgery.

The masked grappler suffered the injury while performing a dive outside the ring during the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match. He was left unable to compete and therefore eliminated.
Reader Ryan Ennis sent this report in:

Tons of Zack Ryder chants throughout the night before the show even began.

Santino beat Jinder Mahal with a cobra in the dark match.

Huge fan support for Ryder, Ziggler and Cody Rhodes. Major heat on John Morrison and oddly Mason Ryan.

    Zack Ryder head bands everywhere.

Sin Cara and Kofi’s explosions are loud as hell. Nothing special happened off camera from what I can tell so far.

Arena is very full, nothing taped off and no big empty sessions.

Randy Orton has gotten second largest pop of the night so far, way behind Zack Ryder’s.

Huge “you ****ed up” chant in middle of 5 way classic. Cara looks hurt for real. Tons of “Batista” chants.

Henry laid around ring for a while selling leg injury.

Huge Macho Man chant after Big Show dropped the top rope elbow.

    Very pro CM Punk crowd.

Just met Zack Ryder’s dad in the rest room, he is a real nice guy. Punk is so over in NYC. Crowd hates Cena.

Reader Jared Wright sent this one in:

Hey Ryan my name is Jared Wright I’m at Survivor Series right now ..Team Orton vs Team Barrett is on now. Looks like Sin Cara botched (shocker). Could be serious but MSG shows no love with “you ****ed up” chants. Also don’t know if it was the crowd being loud or not but I heard NOTHING Laurinaitis said in that opening segment. Also Cody Rhodes is getting a lot of love…a lot of “Cody” chants don’t know how its coming off on TV. Anything specific else you want to know let me know. Dark match Santino def. Jinder Mahal

Somewhere Hunico is sitting very nervously waiting for a phonecall from John Laurinitus....

A GOOD show. I thought the main event was hurt really hard by the crowd being totally unsympathetic to Cena being beatdown and in peril. The heels beatdown was kinda boring too which didn't help things.

Watch his match with Kofi on Smackdown this week. They have (midcard) plans for him and he is very good in ring. He'll be ok. He is Huncio now just removed from Sin Cara enough not to be hurt by the association with Sin Cara IMO.

The diagnosis of Sin Cara's injury was very quick. Could they have had a scan done and had the results back that quickly? Most places seem to think it's legit though.

My buddy Bix was at the show live and apparently those at ringside and in the arena via the Titantron saw a close up of Sin Cara's knee. It was swollen, red and all ****ed up.

Sin Cara's injury as reported is simple enough to diagnose. If your knee cap is not attached to the tibia anymore a physichal exam would show it.

jay should be able to fill us in properly.

Enjoyed a lot of the PPV, it was ok but I still feel a little disappointed. The ending just didn't seem right. When The Rock called Cena back into the ring and essentially embarrassed him for 5 minutes, there had to be a stronger reaction from Cena. There was a moment where the two stood face to face which I though was the best moment, since Cena's crowd reaction has gotten out of control, to turn him. As someone else said WWE probably are OK with this because they feel when Cena eventually does go over The Rock and "earns his respect" he'll get the crowd on side again. They're delusional if that's the plan. It ain't happening. I genuinely felt sorry for Cena last night, the heat he gets is outrageous and can't react to it. I watched SvS knowing, and being alright with it, that Cena was not turning heel anytime soon but after watching that PPV I'm just baffled by WWE's reluctance to do something with him (I'm not actually against Cena getting that sort of reaction, I'd probably be joining in with it).

Anyway, last night was more about The Rock and I guess in that regard it was mission accomplished. Didn't get a huge amount of action from him but what we did see was fuckin excellent. In no way did he seem as though he hasn't wrestled in 7 years. I was skeptical of having him step in a ring for a match before WM but it definitely made me more interested in seeing him at Mania than I have been in months.

WWE title match was excellent too. Was fairly obvious that Punk was getting the title soon but I thought they might hold off til TLC so to give Del Rio a half decent run with it. Don't see Punk dropping the title for a good while now. Also, I loved his celebrations afterwards. Made it seem like winning was a big deal and got the crowd involved too.

Henry and Big Show did ok, Big Show hit a nice spot off the top rope but other than that it was pretty boring and the ending wasn't great.

The 5 vs 5 match was alright. Nothing hugely special but solid. It's crazy how much Sheamus is being protected! Doesn't even lose clean in a 5 on 5 match. The Cody chants gave me a good laugh too, deadly crowd.

The start of the PPV was definitely the Dolph Ziggler show. He's class, no other way about it. He's going places. Two matches on a PPV twice now, he's getting crazy exposure and running with it. I like that the US Title is on the line regularly and is being made into an ongoing storyline so that when he does eventually does drop it to Ryder it will be a much bigger deal than it has been in the past.

Probably about a 7 overall. Points dropped for the gammy ending.

Gave it 8/10. Enjoyable show, one of the better ones this year (though not as good as MitB).

I wonder should they try and turn Ziggler I think a face turn could work for him plus JoMo and Matista seem to get no reaction

    not a chance.

Ziggler is a heel all day every day.

he was made for the Ric Flair or cocky HBK type role.

    Ok imagine it this way.

He got injured in NEW YORK. Arguably one of the most standout citys to have a million hospitals, so a hospital couldn't have been more than 5 minutes away.

He's a WWE superstar, or in leymans terms, a celebrity. Cara would have gotten into said hospital in an instant just because of his status.

A WWE doctor would have been able to diagnose just by looking at the injury.

This is what I was thinking anyways.

PS The Rock has a lovely voice :3

I understand all that it's just they usually would wait until the next day before putting it up on their website etc. Anyhow, it was just an idle musing, it's not important.

Rock had a few very non-pg things to say before he left the ring after the show went off the air:
As soon as the show officially went off the air on pay-per-view, The Rock grabbed a microphone and addressed the crowd in MSG one more time for the evening. "Can The Rock get some water? Jesus Christ!" starts off Mr. Johnson. Someone at ringside gives Rock some water, to which he replies, "you better give The Rock some water, or I'll kick your monkey ass."

Loud crowd chants break out. Half of the building is chanting "You still got it!" while the other half chants, "Welcome back!" The Rock jokingly tells the fans to make up their mind which chant they want to settle on. Rock addresses one-half of those chants, "as far as you still got it, ****, I always had it!"

From there a "we want [Zack] Ryder" chant breaks out. Rock says, "Yeah, I love him. I can't believe how tall that son of a bitch is!"

Someone in the crowd shouts out really loud, "are you gonna cry?!" The Rock responds with, "Hell no. I'll put boots to asses before I cry. There must be some good weed in NYC for people to ask if The Rock is gonna cry!"

Rock continues to talk to the crowd, explaining that he came here tonight to entertain everyone. Rock then thanks everyone. Rocky claims tonight was the greatest night in the history of his WWE career, and that tonight is only just the beginning for him. Rocky says, "the money isn't that bad either."

The Rock thanks the fans one more time and says goodnight.

I wondered the same thing to be fair. It did seem very quick.

Maybe it was announced so quickly so fans would know he was really hurt instead of it just being a way to end his involvement in this particular match.

Also, given that everyone knows he was taken off tv recently for a drug useage policy violation, releasing the injury update quickly avoids rumours starting that he is being taken off tv for a second strike.

Was gonna give it a 7 due to anticlimactic ending.

Crowd made it an 8. MSG crowd cannot be beat. Punk/Rio had me on my feet for the first time in ages.

A Daniel Bryan cash in or a Cena heel turn and I would have given it a 9. Wasted opportunities. MSG would have made moments like that even bigger.

He said on twitter the other day that GI Joe has finished shooting and according to IMDB he's not scheduled to film anything else until next year. Unless he's got promotional work for a film then he may well have a few appearances coming up. I hope so.

    Good show.

Great crowd which made up for the what I thought were abrupt finishes for Punk/Del Rio (which I haven't really cared about) and Cena-Rock/Miz-Truth though they were harsh on Big Show/Henry. 'Tweren't boring.

Props to Eve aswell for the finish of her match. Still think there should have been an Eve vs Cole fued.

Fine with the close of the show. I disagree that it wasn't story progression. All that junk about respecting each other on the day after WM27 clearly isn't true in Rock's case. If Cena goes heel anytime soon then his getting bullied amid the cheers of the people he does everything for (similar to when the crowd chanted for Austin when Cactus Jack was getting beaten) is the perfect way to go. If he doesn't, then he still has all he needs to fuel his match at WM28 when the only thing he has on his side is being in the right. Assuming Cena doesn't laugh it off.

Wish Ziggler wasn't punked out at the start of the tag match. Makes sense kayfaybe-wise but his being the first to compete when he's had a match already (again) doesn't. No biggie though.

Thought he showed a lot of personality in his match with JoMo that's normally reserved for Ryder's show. Good to see him feed off the boos.

    not a chance.

Ziggler is a heel all day every day.

he was made for the Ric Flair or cocky HBK type role.

I think he could be a decent Barney Stinsonesque face.

I thought it was a very good show overall.

    Ziggler/Jomo was good.

    Diva's match was surprisingly decent.

5 man match was okay, plus Wade's push continues.

Henry/Show was crap but I didn't expect it to be anything else.

Punk/Del Rio was very good, plus Punk won!

The main event was decent too,and Rock was fantastic, you wouldn't know he hadn't wrestled in 7 years judging by this performance.

    Overall 8/10.

The show lost 1 point each for not having Danielson and Ryder wrestle on the card.

Only Watched Punks win and the main event so far.

Punk v Del Rio was a good match. Delighted to see Punk as Champion again and also happy to see a good competitive match without a screwy ending.

Main event was executed well. The MSG crowd were played brilliantly by all 4 guys and I thought Miz and Truth did a great job of making Rock look the part after 7 years. The ending I actually enjoyed.

Really looking forward to Cena v Rock in Miami now. Seeing Rock again, performing so well really raises expectations and it should be epic.

    Something just hit me.

Big Show used a chair on Henry. Henry used a chair initially to take out Show. So at TLC, is it possible we'd have a main event where a chair match makes sense after longterm booking?

They'll probably make it a ladder match so.

Good show, mildly flat end (even if it does help in the long term). The main event was always going to be a bit flat when The Rock was not doing anything.

Nice to see Punk win but hopefully he keeps it for a while now. Tossing it back and forth between him and Del Rio would be pointless. I'm hoping he keeps it until at least the Rumble.

That sounds great! EXCEPT...... Big Show was out for like...4-5 months? And Henry'd be only out for a few weeks with the same injury angle. It could make sense if they forced Henry back to defend the belt or forfeit it although that's something faces should do!!

    hell, i'll take it - they've made a chair-match have meaning!
