    Hi all,

Am looking for some recommendations for some new dresses for all the nights out over the christmas period, but am looking for something which will flatter a size 6/8 with a flat-ish chest :o

I'd love something figure hugging, but not slappery either, with a bit of structure if possible! I'm in my early 30's and would love to hear your suggestions of something suitable!

    Thanks a mil :)

Hi Mrs Whippy!!!You sound like the same body type as me (or at least I was a few months ago :-/) and the same age...I cant get enough of All Saints dresses, they do a range of jersey material short dresses with draping in muted colours. Every season they change it slightly, I have four and they're not a whole lot different but different enough!!! They start at a size 6 and although they are figure hugging they are edgy looking and in the right type of colours to keep them from being slappery IMO anyway!!! Theres an outlet in kildare and a shop in the Powerscourt centre, you should definitely check it out :)

Hey op i'm a size 8 and very petite height so i feel your pain, even though a lot of dress shops stock smaller sizes they usually don't have many in stock so dress shopping can be a disaster especially this time of year. I love body con dresses and I find that oasis and miss self ridge petite range party dresses fit the best, but i used to work for Monsoon so have to give them a plug too! But size 6 is rare in monsoon stores unless you shop online and you can exchange instore. Asos.com is great too x x

If you were tall I was going to recommend one of those Stella McCartney inspired polka dot dresses but the ones on the high street might drown you.

Have a look in Miss Selfridge, they had some lovely dresses for petite figures when I was in there last week and New Look have some nice ones too.

OMG, those All Saints dresses are AMAZING! Pity they're a bit pricey but i'd say they're worth the investment!

    I love these ones:

My friend is a size 6/8 and always looks really elegant in Warehouse dresses - she had a fabulous black fitted satin one on the other night - detail along the top and a v neck with gold zip at back. It was really lovely and sexy. I think ASOS dresses can be quite tacky, but maybe I'm just jealous as I'm a size 14/16!!! :P

I'm the same size, can only wear high-neck dresses, mostly shift dresses and then the rest are longsleeve dresses with a highish waist.

You should definitely go into the outlet, you can get a jersey one for about €40. They look like nothing on the hanger or lying down btw, you have to try them on but its worth it :) oh worth trying ebay aswell. I have this one

Its "buy it now" for €35 and stunning on (I wore it with fishnets :))
