    Hi all

Im going to put in a Groundsource heat pump in my new build and a 300L cylinder. I am going to put in a dry stove in the sitting room but from talking to other people they are telling me to connect it to the cylinder to heat the hot water. is this possible. i don't want to connect to the UFH. Any advice?

whats .. stove to heat water, 2 choices, stanley tara or harmoney II.
both have a boiler that will be able to do hot water only 2.5 to 3.5 kw. . rads needs 8-15kw depending on amt of rads..

cons. . none really, might have over heating issues if the stove is going in to a small room. . open doors and let heat travel i say.

pros, tonnes of hot water, . . ull be making the mrs go for a bath like i am.

but, ull only get hot water as long as the stove is on. . and if its a new build like mine. well, the stove wasnt on from march to Oct. . . so think of other means of heating the water for this period. . for me, 1 hr a day on the oil. . never noticed it taking anything. . .shut off raditor chamber so heating tank only.. . rads were also off from March 1st. and actually still not timed to come on yet. .. just knocking it on and off the last week..

lad told me at work. . so u spend all that money. . . 1000s and 1000s. .. and u never turn the heating on. .

made me think of one word.. . Dimplex. !

before someone says it. . solar for the summer. . ya. . then what happens in the winder. ..
too much power going to water. . i was formally advised to stick with what i have and stay away from solar. . .

the €€€ savings are not in it. ..given the cost that is. .

I really mean it. 1hr a day on oil to heat water only. and keep the chambers closed. really really used nothing oil. . wouldnt have even used 50 euros for the march to oct. .

Solar if done right can be quite good in the winter, especially at times like last winter, clear skys for most of november, december, jan meant a lot of systems worked really well.

And the savings are in it if you have a good system , unfortunatly theres too many people out there installing crap systems or installers not knowing how to set them up to get the best out of them

No, you can not connect a dry stove to a wet CH system. At least not in a standard CH system.
Do you mean to purchase a 'boiler-stove' and connect this to the wet CH system?
