    **SOLD**

a real genuine 100% 'lovely ride, sad to see her go'

    216407_10150564563225604_681875603_18590454_3961579_n.jpg

    1980's Benotto

    ideally suit 5ft 10 upwards(Im 6ft 3)

    Colombus Zeta tubing
    top tube c-c 57cm
    seat tube c-c 60cm
    head tube 20cm
    wheel base 99cm
bottom bracket clearance, centre to ground (with 23mm tyres) 28cm
    Campag dropouts
    no dents or damage anywhere,
theres the odd paint chip but still looks lovely for its age.
    Italian threads

    250euro,

    included:like new Tange Levin headset,
    new 26.6mm seatpost
new Campag 111mm bb/new Shimano UN54 110mm/ new GXP bb cups
new Yoshida Champ keirin grips,( light blue color that matches the decals)

there is 1 minor caveat which shouldnt be an issue. the driveside chainstay tube has only a couple of mm clearance when some 144bcd track cranks are installed.

solution: use 4mm longer bb axle, moves the cranks out by 2mm.
miche advanced should work fine with 111mm

stronglight track 2000 with JIS 110mm
any 130mm bcd track/road crank will work perfectly

final option is to have the chainstay crimped which wont effect the structural strength in anyway, for some unknown reason it wasnt done by the original builder.I can pass on contact details for someone who can do that job, but its not really needed, your choice.

I raced and trained on this Benotto for a few months last summer and found it very stiff(colombus zeta tubing doesnt flex!) while sprinting and also very nimble due to the very short wheel base of 99cm, unusual for such a large frame. I switched to another steel frame with a 59cm toptube that fit me better for racing, unfortunately it flexed too much and I sold it at the end of the race season. Ive just bought a new modern frame with 59cm tt, 57cm is just too short for my needs

I can also build custom wheels and have some very nice quill stems and other parts.

Ive a set of 32h nos galli clincher rims which Im in the process of hand polishing, and some new planet x pista 32h gold hubs. they are ready to be built up 3cross f&r with DT Swiss champion spokes

Godammit! If RT backs out, I'll call next dibs. Just bought an 80s Benotto road frame too.

Oh and obligatory "Mexican or Italian build, cos I heard..." question.

    Kidding.

Hi, sorry I actually built them into wheels and sold them(stripped the anodizing and polished them), they are with the frameset above and the new owner

re:suntour crankset, Ive been mostly in Kildare and low on cash, feel free to sell it to someone else as I prob wont need it for another couple of months, unless I can buy it soon, Ive a few other things I need first.

remind what rims you need and Ill check my usual sources and pass on any links I find. Ive some nos rigida tubular rims 36h polished silver, with new vittoria tyres

Grand so, thanks for letting me know, appreciate it.

    Amongst my dreams are:

    70's/80's chainset (I have a mismatched 170/172.5 record chainset)
    70's Campag bar end levers
    Large flange 700c wheels
    Look delta pedals (from 1990's)
32 hole clincher rims I just purchased a pair of 32h record hubs.

    I've a for sale/swap ad on here for 28h gp4's on record hubs. I'm not a fan of tubs - I can't sew!
