Cannot Install Visual Studio 2010 on Win98 Machine

    Hi there,

    I'm trying to install VS 2010 on my home pc hosting Win98 OS. It fails to install. I dont really want to upgrade to WIndows 7 as this pc is at least 10 years old.

    Anyone have any suggestions? Could I run a VMWare Win 7 OS on a Win98 machine perhaps?

    I doubt even VMWare (or a Windows 7 compatible version) will run on Windows 98. Microsoft has not supported 98 for a few years so its pritty much obsolete at this stage. You certainly won't get VS2010 working on 98 anyways, it won't even run on 2000 either!
    Another thing to note aswell is the machine is likely so old virtualisation just wouldn't be an option, and the machines spec likely wouldn't even meet the Windows 7 minimum requirements. Time for an upgrade tbh man!
