upgrade from 1st gen apple tv to 2nd gen - worth it?

I have a 1st gen apple tv and i'm perfectly happy with it. But I'm thinking of upgrading to the newer version via Santa this Christmas. Is it worth it, or am I better off with something else? Are there any killer features of the 2nd gen over the 1st? From what I can see the main differences are 1) no storage on the device so it's all streaming (which actually seems like a disadvantage to me) and 2) airplay, which would be pretty nice to have but hardly a killer feature.

When I bought my Apple TV I had the choice of 1st or 2nd generation and I chose the first gen because I want on board storage so I can view movies etc when my Apple iMac is turned off.

I am happy with my choice.
