They won't despatch certain items in Healthy & Beauty..

distribution rights are often territorial, brands/companies decide that their product will only be made available through certain channels and bar their suppliers in other territories from shipping into restricted areas.

I had the same problem with aftershave recently too. I got onto customer service and they said its because it is deemed flammable that the shipping agents won't carry it by air.

Check out feelunique.com for what your looking for, I ended up ordering from there for cheaper than amazon. Also if you have a fatcheese account go via there for cashback

Some good reasons listed above, another is possibly duty issues

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn1882.html
    4. Goods purchased for Personal Use over the Internet or from mail order catalogues from a country within the EU

Goods ordered by a private individual, over the Internet or from a mail order catalogue, from EU Member States are not liable to Customs Duty. However, they are normally liable to VAT at the rate chargeable in that country and this amount is included in the purchase price of the goods.

Excise Duty is payable on excisable products such as alcohol and tobacco ordered for personal use from EU Member States over the Internet or from mail order catalogues - it must be paid before the goods arrive in Ireland.
I am not 100% sure, but I think perfumes are excisable, they always show up on boarding passes.

Sorry for bumping this after a week but I ordered perfume a few days ago from Amazon and they wouldnt deliver it. I emailed them and this was their reply.
I’m sorry but we can’t send "Cerruti Pour Homme Eau de Toilette Spray 50 ml" to Ireland.

Perfume are considered as hazmat items and we do not deliver them outside UK.

This is because this item contains flammable, pressurised, corrosive, environmentally hazardous or otherwise harmful substances classified as dangerous goods under the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).

Although the amount of these substances in products is usually small, they need to be transported in a certain way to make sure that they’re handled with care and are therefore assigned to a specialist carrier.

I am having the same problem at the moment. I'm trying to buy an aftershave gift pack and I can't get it anywhere online.

I contacted on of the websites and this is their reply.
    Dear Sir/Madam
At the moment the aviation authorities are not allowing us to fly aerosols or items that are marked as flammable into Europe. Any sprays such as deodorant, body sprays or dry shampoos kept in pressurised containers, are not allowed to travel in the hold of the plane. We are also unable to send any liquids 1000ml or above.

We are in the process of trying to find a way around this, but at the moment I'm afraid it isn't possible to send you these items.

This is a new thing isnt it? I've never had this problem before.

Any ideas for geting around this?

I never ordered perfume or the likes before from Amazon so I assume its a relatively new policy they have. After the email reply I received from them I emailed them again and pointed out that other online stores were delivering to Ireland and their reply was (sorry, deleted the email) along the lines of "sorry you dont agree with us but thats the way it is".....words to that effect.
