I've some relations coming from Canada (can it be purchased in Canada?) over Christmas and was thinking of asking them to bring an Amazon Fire with them for me.

I know that using it over here will mean you won't get all the bells and whistles but I don't mind so much if it still operates as a basic tablet.

I essentially want it for web browsing/email on the go, via wifi obviously, and the odd bit of media consumption (movies/mp3/ebooks). It should function perfectly fine in this capacity shouldn't it?
