Galaxy S won't send texts

    Hi,

My wife just got a second hand Galaxy S, and while everything else seems to work fine, it's unable to send text messages. Since she got it last night, she has managed to successfully send one text. All others have reported "Failed".

Has anyone any idea why this might be, and is there something unusual in the settings I may have missed?

    Thanks

Did you check the Message centre number? What network is she with?

She's with Tescomobile. Phone was previously locked to Meteor, so that could be it. I never thought of that as any phone I've changed networks with have usually just worked (I think). I assumed all that info was contained on the SIM.

Do you know where I'd look for that?

Personally, I haven't unlocked my Galaxy but I'm sure there's plenty of threads discussing it if you search. It may be network locked but if she can make calls I doubt it is.

I'd check the message centre number first. It can be found under message settings. A quick google suggests it should be set to: +353 89 430 0000

Job done. I eventually found where the message settings are. (unless there's an Apple on the back of the equipment, I've real trouble figuring stuff out).
Thanks very much Dubh Geannain. It's very much appreciated.
