renting/borrowing a cargo bike?

A friend of mine runs a clothing company.

They're planning on a line to be released in the run up to Christmas, and were hoping to have a mobile pop up shop on the go around town, using a cargo bike as a means of portable transport and possibly a casual trading spot.

The problem is, they have no cargo bike... Does anyone know if there is anywhere that rents them out? Or even better, anyone want to help them out and lend them one?! I understand that they're expensive and not frequently sought after bikes, so if nobody wants to loan one, I totally understand, but it's worth asking, right?!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, they're a good bunch who make very nice Irish designed products, and are obviously pretty brave to be trying stuff like this in the business climate today.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Not sure if it's of any use but The Dutch Bike Shop sells cargo bikes and might be able to tell you if they know of any rental options locally.

And good luck to your friend, it's certainly an interesting idea.

Thanks, I'll pass that link on to him.

I think that they've sorted him out with a lend of a bike. Thanks a million for the link, and thanks to The Dutch Bike Shop for being quick and helpful.

Hopefully this'll help Project A Apparel out, and the Dutch Bike Shop too. Keep an eye out for their bike around Dublin city in December, and if you need a t-shirt or anything for a Christmas present, they're really very nice!

Which cargo bike did they rent in the end?

I'm looking to buy one in the next while, and it would be nice no to have to order in from England.

I have no idea, but he said they're a small husband-and wife team who were very nice to deal with and extremely helpful. At this stage, the Project A guys haven't seen, touched or sat on a bike, just had a conversation. So I'd say give them a shout, they should be able to give you a hand.

My wife has dealt with people from The Dutch Bike Shop face to face, and found them very helpful. They are at Marley Park market every Saturday, I believe, and have some stuff at their stand there. I'm not sure if they regularly attend other markets as well.
