On a Foxsat HDR While recording CBS action and then decided to record Channel 5 and watch BBC1. Then pressed ok to see the channel selection and flick to another station, but nearly all were greyed out and I could not watch most stations, they were unavailable. All the BBC's, Bet+1 and Jewellery Maker were the only channels I could choose to watch while recording the other 2.

    Is this normal?

IE, while recording 2 channels you can only watch a few others?

    Thanks

    TC

Yes, it's normal - it's to do with polarisation of the channels. The range of channels available to view depends on what two channels you are actually recording.

To record two channels and watch a third channel live, at least two of them must be on the same transponder, simple.

    Thanks people, that explains it.

It was just that this was my first time to double record and was not sure if all was ok or not.

While I'm here.......all channels coming in 90/100, 100/100 but some of the shopping channels, even though signal S and Q is good, either squeal like an old dial up modem, or just black.

Channels like Gems, Gems+, JML etc etc. My wife watches them for curiosity sake, and I do not like not knowing why they are gone......

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

Is there a cordless phone/basestation or a wifi router in the vicinity of the Humax? -Interference has been known to case problems with some channels.

Welcome to the Humax club - great machine.
