    Hello,

Doing some exploratory research here. My band would like to record a 2-3 track demo. We are neither poor nor rich, so something good quality but not outrageously priced for a demo. We are thinking that recording as much as possible live would be our preference, with overdubbing of vocals and other bits after (as opposed to the system where each musician records his bit, one at a time), so somewhere that is set up for that kind of recording would be great.

Open to any and all suggestions.

    Regards

whats up man, my old band recorded a few songs in elektra studios, it's pretty decent. we recorded through the night starting at 10pm-10am, I think it cost €100-120, I can't really rememeber and then you can get one of their sound engineer's in for an extra price, we brought our own with us. it's a good studio and the live room is fairly big.

I suppose I should be more specific. If a band has recorded there could they link to the music they recorded there?

    Thank you.

    Hey,

I don't know if you're still looking for somewhere but, I'm a freelance recording engineer. If you'd be up for it, I could work with you guys, do a bit of pre-production before any studio time is booked, so we can work on the songs and the sounds etc. I do pre-production for free, and then, you guys choose a studio (I can recomend a number of them), I'll book it for you, and when you go in for the day or 2, you'll be paying around the same price, but, you'll be alot more prepared for it, and will therefore get so much more work done, to a higher standard, than you would walking in to a studio "blind" if you will.

If you'd be interested, send me a PM of your band details and we can chat :)

    Gary
