Apparently it's looking more and more likely. Today's publication of the Stormont Executive's programme for Government, pledges - among other things - to host a major golf tournament in Northern Ireland. The document (click here for the official .PDF) is focused on a 2013 or 2014 event.

And after that, maybe the British Open.

Would be a great scoop to get in before the British Open.

I mean we would have the eyes of the world, the UK anyway, on the Irish open.

Good date on the calender and we could have the makings of a great Irish Open with a top class field on a world class course. Still going to be the problem with the crowd capacity though.

    Did not read report.

But we are in such a sad state, they could try to. "get away, get away from everything, for a while" (song)

Call it the Northern Ireland Open, drop the south. Get a big Northern company and Northern Ireland Tourist Board on board.

    Rory , Darren , Graham.

Then no Irish open at all.

    Not going to happen.

This is a pledge from Politicans, not the tour.

    Haddaway is crap.
