Great news for Knock. Pardon my ignorance for a minute, but why dont Ryanair create these routes from Shannon too/instead? Would there not be more of a demand from Shannon?

Knock probably gave them a better deal on landing fees etc

    1. Ryanair don't fly to Amsterdam and if they did there first route would NOT be Knock.

    2. No French bases so don't see a route.

    3. Indo stated 3 new routes 1 to UK and 2 to Europe (lightly to be BRS returning)

    4. They are dropping Reus and Leeds next summer so it will all only amount to new routes if they do start 4.

O'Leary is stamping is feet and going on about independent airports and how they can survive without subsidy and all this tripe. He'll maintain a token presence at Shannon for fear somebody else will come and try start services, and he'll come back guns blazing...

The new routes are to Milan (Bergamo), Paris (Beauvais), Frankfurt (Hahn) and Barcelona (Girona). Barcelona (Reus) will not return next year, Bristol will return having been dropped for the winter months.

Excellent news for the airport, will be very interesting to see how the European city routes perform.
