    Hi all,

I wonder if any boardsies work/have worked for this crowd? Ive an interview tomorrow for their site in D8 - from the recruiter and any bit of research ive done, they seem to be quite a fine employer, good treatment of staff, benefits etc.

Can you let me know what your own experience of the place is?

I hope the interview went well for you, just saw your post.

I worked for them for 4 years in the Waterford office. I started in sales, which I really didn't like, I'm not great at persuasion but the ones that were made a good wage. I lasted a year in that section and asked for a transfer to another department which they accomodated.

I did CS/Tech/Admin for another 3 years and enjoyed that much more (except for the customers but that's hardly AOL's fault!)

One good thing I got from them was military timing - they love checking times to the second, we used to get 15 mins per day for loo breaks. They used these sheets with happy or sad emoticons on them (dunno if they still do but very very condesending). When I started this job I have now they actually commented on how precise my timing was. Its faded a bit now though :o

The benefits were a bit mad though, we used to get a discount on Pizza and they had a good doctor scheme where you pay a few quid every week and don't pay when you go to the doctor, you could put family on it too. I don't remember any others tbh.

By far the best thing though was the other staff, I was 19 at the time and if you are young and up for it they have some cracking nights out.

TL;DR - not the worst but better than the dole :pac:

Their (former) call centre was nothing like their tech development operation, so I'm not quite sure the advice is particularly relevant in the OP's case ;)

Well he didn't specify that, he asked what they were like to work for, as per the thread title. ;)

I was very interested in your reply to the thread..........oh wait.

Did interview (for Citywest Software Engineering campus) over phone

Questions quite intense and was warned twice to be briefer in answer. Fair enough if waffling but was sticking to the point.

Anyway i got a full interview this week with them now. :D Any tips/do's/don'ts you can offer would be superb

    Hi veryangryman,

Just wondering how you got on? I've done a phone interview, a written exam, a "Cultural Ambassador Interview" so far. Have a 3rd & final interview this afternoon in their new offices just down from Heuston.
