New Gaming Laptop

Looking to get a new laptop as the current one is nearly 3 years old now and just isn't quite up to it anymore and i want something that can handle running games on more than medium settings. I have no space for a desktop, so it needs to be a laptop.

    Processor: Mobile Intel ® Core i7 2860QM / 8MB L3 Cache, 2.50GHz - 3.60GHz Turbo Mode
Graphics Card: Two GeForce GTX 560M graphics cards in SLI with the Total Area 3 GB
    Memory: 8 GB - 2 x 4096 MB High Performance - DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 MH
Hard Drive: 120 GB SATA Solid State Drive
    Hard Drive 2: 500GB 7,200 rpm / min SATA
Wireless Network Card: Wireless LAN Killer N BIGFOOT

I'm looking at one with these specs (it is pricey, i know) but it should see me through the next 2 years or so hopefully.

I can downgrade the processor to a
    Mobile Intel ® Core i7 2820QM / 8MB L3 Cache, 2.30GHz - 3.40GHz Turbo Mode

which would take a bit off the price but not sure if i want to.

I can also swap out the SLI'd cards for a single

NVidia GeForce GTX 580M with 2.0 GB of GDDR5 memory and DirectX 11

    or a

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6990 with 2GB GDDR5 memory and DirectX 11

which from lookin at reviews would be about the same power.

Not sure what way to go with it, any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Sin_J

What would be the price difference if you would downgrade the processor?? Because if we are talking about €20 cheaper, I would go for 2860QM.

Also I would advise you to go with two graphic cards in SLI as there is one main advantage, that you can process 2 threads simultaneously. The only problem might be with the older games, as they might not be able to use two cards.

Is it by any chance Alienware?

The processor downgrade would knock about 80 euro off. Which i would have done be default but i was looking up comparisons of the 2 processors and the 2860 seems like it has a good edge on the 2820 for the sake of 80 euro.

No it's not an alienware, i was looking at them, but the closest equivilent they had to that spec was over 3k. I'm willing to spend a bit of money on this obviously but just no to that much.

It's a german company called Deviltech, which has good reviews everywhere i've seen and the many germans i know speak highly of.

Wow, looking at them now they seem to have great prices. The laptops are custom built I take it? Do they deliver to Ireland?

EDIT: Never mind seems the prices show are the base prices with the lowest option components and no OS. You can of course pick better components and add an OS but that puts me way out of budget.
