Lisselan new membership (West Cork)

    Hi,

    I've been looking at clubs near to me lately, (had a thread on here about it) and one that never crossed my mind was Lisselan near Clonakilty. Gorgeous little 9 hole course that I used to play a good few times a year during my first foray into golf.

    Looked up their website just now and they seem to be open for new members at E520 + E19 GUI for gents and E420 + E25 for ladies. My girlfriend has just started taking lessons and she enjoys it even though she hasn't been out on a course yet. Lisselan isn't the easiest 9 holes out there for anyone, nevermind a complete novice but it could prove good value for money if she played a couple of rounds there.

    Basically, I feel my game has improved to the extent where I'm ready to pay membership at a reasonably local course in order to get an official handicap and work at getting it down and for my girlfriend to get a proper feel for playing on a course and not just on a range. They have a new husband and wife offer of E700 + E19 + E25, which seems quite reasonable to me.

    Do you guys think its worth it? Do you think they'd accept a boy/girlfriend as a husband and wife?
