Hi guys/gals, my brother-in-law is visiting over the Christmas. He is travelling from Moscow. He is big into Airsoft and is looking to buy a gun here to bring back with him.

What is the procedure in declaring the gun etc for customs and security?

well tbh it all depends on the airline he is flying with, some are ok some are note he minimum he will need if the airlines will carry it will be a secure lockable case to go in the hold

the guys is more than likely actually better off picking something up when he returns to russia

Thanks for your reply. I guess he could always post it home too. Not sure if the gun he has picked out is readily available where he is or if its cheaper here.

he will have to check with russian customs as well, from my experience of them they make irish customs look like kittens

To be honest, I really think he could get much bigger selection and cheaper airsoft guns in Russia.
