Van conversion

    Is it still possible to re-classify a vehicle ,i.e convert a MPV to Commercial van....and whats involved a la NCT/VRT....or are those days gone....:confused:

    Was thinking the same myself, converting a Merc 300TD into a commercial.

    Had a look on revenue.ie, and on the face of it, it looks like you can still do it.

    You download and fill in Form VRTCONV available here
    http://www.revenue.ie/revsearch/search.jsp
    and from my reading, you need a Suitable Qualified Person (Engineers Report) and invoices for the cost of conversion and post it off to Rosslare.

    If it's already registered here and VRT paid you can do it. If you're importing, forget it.
