I am writing a law essay, and presume I need to use OSCOLA referencing style. I know there is a lot on the net about how to reference, but is it the case that for an essay I don't need a bibliography? I read that on one site I don't, since it is all contrained in the footnotes. Sorry if this is a stupid question but my undergrad was not in Law and I used MLA style

Any law essay/paper I done I had to include a full bibliography, it shouldn't take you long if you use your footnotes to get what material you used and then make it into a bibliography. I always found that splitting my bibliography up made it neater; have a heading for text books used, cases used, journal articles, legislation etc. It would be worth doing one just incase and in any event just mail your lecturer I'm sure they will tell you if they want a bibliography included or not.
